Hrgovic with a violent KO win but I think Whyte prices himself out of this fight as he knows what will happen to him.

Whyte is most certainly declined - and you're right, he's not a legit contender any more.

Then again, Hrgovic never has been a legit contender.

The problem with Hrgovic is he struggles to win on points, and if he can't knock someone out he'll struggle... And while he's not pillowfisted, he's not been breaking iron either.
He has a great chin, but surviving big punches from hard hitting opponents is only useful if you can either stop them or win on points if it reaches the final bell - and that's Hrgovic's problem.

This really comes down to what state they're both in - either or both could come in looking absolutely horrible and gas after 5 rounds and I wouldn't be at all shocked.

He went 50/50 with Zhang... He was lucky to get that call.

And Zhang isn't a legit contender IMHO - at the time Hrgovic fought him, he hadn't beaten a single top-100 level fighter and had drawn with Jerry Forrest.
His wins over Joyce boosted his reputation massively, but Joyce is so unbelievably easy to hit... He's just nowhere near as good as he's hyped up to be - he's also almost completely incapable of winning without a KO, so the fact Hrgovic couldn't do it clearly says a lot about his limitations.

I don't think he was lucky he took over when Zhang gassed and any round outside of the knockdowns were very close for Zhang

I don't think Whyte will accept that fight at this point of his career unless he gets a big Saudi bag.

Feels like a last gasp for Whyte as he'll be 37 in the spring, the worst thing about this fight if Whyte wins he'll be a far more attractive opponent than some of the younger fighters who should get shots.
