Hey everyone just a hypothetical matchup - think it would be a good match for both men if it were to happen. who wins? Hrgovic’s schooling vs Makhmudov’s raw brutality. Both big guys, who would both need the win.
Well, this is a fight that I would really love to see, Makhmudov certainly has more power than Hrgovic, but in terms of technique I would say Hrgovic is better, a 50-50 fight and hard to predict...
Good fight. As you mentioned above, I think Hrgovic would be too well schooled for Makhmudov. Makhmudov has power, but is too raw with it. Hrgovic has already been chin checked by Zhang, and passed, so I wouldn't expect a stoppage in this fight. Hrgovic by UD in what could be a very entertaining fight.
Hrgovic isn't a hard hitter, but I voted for him by KO. Makhmudov's caveman style combined with his extreme agressiveness will exaust him and Hrgovic will stop him late. Also, Makhmudov's chin is suspect - he never fought a hard hitter as a pro, and was knocked out twice as an amateur.
Hrgovic will struggle with the savage approach by Makhmudov, but will outpoint him in a close fight, as he is faster and more refined.
Thanks for the comments/votes - I went with Makhmudov KO, mainly because of the way Hrgovic responded to the heavy shots from Zhang. But genuinely don’t know what would happen in this match, which is why I find it compelling. Both would need the win to avoid joining the “who needs him?” club, so I believe it would be fiercely contested.
I'll lean with Makhmudov, Hrgovic is by far the better boxer but I don't see Makh allowing him to box and Hrgo isn't the kind of mover to get away.
