Anyone know what the punch stats were...? Was mentioned that Hopkins was well ahead in the interview but I didn't hear them mentioned on Premier
Really gutted about that result. Dunno how you lads scored it but I had Hopkins winning rounds 4-11 and a 10-10 in the last. i felt for hopkins as well, he spoke well afterwards everything he said was true. It was close cos of the scorecards but in my opinion Hopkins showed he was still a better fighter. His body work was key, a very influential tactic. the shame is if there ever is a rematch it might just be too late for him
Hopkins won the fight. However, didn't win the game due to how boxing is scored A very dodgy knockdown call in round 1, and a flash knockdown right at the end of round 3. But for them, Hopkins could actually of won this with 118, 119, maybe even argue 120pts. The knock downs had a 6pt swing with them, turned what was a 10-9 Hopkins round, to a 10-8 Pascal round. The first one, which IMO was a very poor call from the referee, cost BHop big here. I can't turn round and say it's a major robbery, I scored the fight 114-112, all it takes is one round scored different for that to become a draw. However the scorecard only tells half the story. 114-112 doesn't do BHop justice. He was the clear winner.
i had it 116-113 hopkins. after the knockdowns i only gave pascal a share of the fifth and twelth shocking decision, expected it though
Whilst I didn't want him to win up front, I feel for Bernard. I didn't think the first KD should have been ruled as such and without that, Hopkins would have taken the win. By Bernards standards, a fairly cleanly fought fight too. Whatever the result, Hopkins has proven yet again his timeless ability and delivered another fantastic performance against a proven champion. The man truly deserves the highest respect. Jim Gray was a disgrace :-(
Just reading the round by round, what a contrast from beginning to end..must be a great come back by Old Boy..**** i missed it! I hate sleep..sleep is the cousin of death!!
Wow what a great performance by Bernard, i had him winning pretty much every round from the 4th but this is similar to the Marquez v Manny situation
Well..... my grandad could have beaten that clown. Judging by his performance, he probably had a bet on himself to lose by stoppage..... he didn't look particularly bothered by any of the punches, but just stood there and let himself be tee'd off on. He makes Audley look good
