Nino Benvenuti was a massive Light-Middleweight and a big Middleweight although lacked a physicallity at Middleweight. Current Super-featherweight champ Uchiyama, in his last fight he fouhgt a 6'3'' challenger.
I hate these internet myths. Mclleland weighed in at 165 for the benn fight,3 pounds inside the limit. Yes he was a bid middle,but he was probably average at 168. (benn was a small 168er.) You got russell continually claiming g-man was a cruiser,and now this. In boxing news g-man claimed he rehydrated to 174/76 when he was a middle. Now that makes him a decent size 168er,if you believe him. Cruiser=190+ for those who cant do the math. Finally,consider half of the time the 'in ring weights' include roughly 7 pounds of clothes,and sometimes 7 pounds of excess water from the UV re-hydration. But people ignore this and claim these guys are 'huge' at the weight. End of rant...
Kelly Pavlik was enormous for a middleweight. He rehydrated to 178 for the Martinez fight. His fight with Gary Lockett was bizarre looking for two guys in the same division. Oscar was massive at lightweight, Pacquiao was a beast towards the end of his days at superfeatherweight (rehydrating to around 144-147). And I always thought Iran Barkley looked huge when he fought at middle.
Jose Luiz Castillo was a huge Lightweight so was Howard Davis jr. at 5'11,Donald Curry is the most solid looking welter i've seen he looked like a middleweight.
Mark Breland was about 6'3 and 147 pounds. The tallest welterweight I ever seen. Skinny as hell of course.
Shane Mosley & Jose Luis Castillo @ 135. Not necessarily the tallest & rangiest (more so for Castillo), but their frames were just huge for LW. Vinny Pazienza had a very big, stocky frame @ 135 also. Likewise for Arturo Gatti @ 130.
