Was discussing this why he literally only ever throws 1 or 2 shots max at once, good point bout lack of power, bu then he ets clipped anyway and chin seems decent so might as well throw more! Not just the lack of combination punching either though for me, also the lack of variety in the shots he throws , he literally throws a jab and a looping right hand and hardly no other punches, must become very predictable in that sense for opponents despite how awkward his movement can be at times. Makes me wonder what they are working on in gym
Every fight he has lost has been on points He does literally nothing to try and actually win a fight Didnt even beat Sam Peters squarely Na Hughie is a waste
Trey Lippe (16-0, 16 KO) , 29 year old son of the late, great, Tommy Morrison, I just want to see what would happen.
I’d be happy to watch fury vs price next If I was Hearn though I’d try and grab some of fury’s stateside popularity and stick him on some undercards in America against arreola or Martin next
The key question for Hughie is does he actually want to box? Does Hughie actually enjoy boxing? He fights like someone who hates every minute of being in the ring. He fights like someone who is only concerned about not getting caught flush. He just doesn’t have any killer instinct at all. He fights like someone who has erectile dysfunction. The fans are already turned off him. There is nothing enjoyable about watching a big HW who is shitting themselves, doesn’t want to be there. His heart isn’t in there when it comes to doing what needs to be done to win at the highest level. He is happy to lose a UD by not doing enough and not putting it on the line. He will continue to lose every time he steps up above journeyman level, at this rate. I think Hughie needs to ask himself these questions because if he doesn’t want to be there, then it’s best if he does something else for a living.
That's actually a good point about Hughie, DOES he want to be a boxer or is he just trying to make his dad proud. He seems like a kid who'd be happy being a bricklayer and living the simple life tbh.
Get Gary Cornish or Tom Dallas out of retirement. He might let his right hand go. But then again maybe not
Agreed. He was doing decent first 4 against pov then just stopped trying.....like ‘I cannot be ars.ed with this, if I scrape past this they’ll make me fight a top 10 again’ And that’s not knocking POV, he won fair an square
Yeah as people have mentioned, it's a strange signing from Hearn. I guess he's good for filling up spots on undercards. His dad needs to realise though that he's not as good as he thinks he is and needs to drop him down a level for now.
A couple more fights and I think Hughie will have enough to retire. He strikes me as the sort of guy who lives a pretty simple life.
Can see Hearn trying to get an unbeaten (cheap) European in to face Hughie next- Petar Milas fits the bill. Hughie has to put on a performance next time out- if he does not then I can’t see him boxing on Sky even as a PPV filler.
