Very interesting to read 1.5m people tuned into the fight. Incredible numbers for a British title, especially given the majority would not have heard of Sexton. Must surely highlight what a dreadful job ITV have done with the WBSS fights? Cannot imagine any of theirs have received near this?
Hughie got about 20 people watching his World Title fight and no one's heard of Sexton. Haye is a relative household name, so was always going to be a draw.

That's good numbers. Better as the US May 5th weekend. It also means that British viewers might be sobering up, as they weren't going to pay to see Hughie on YT PPV but tune in when he's on regular tv.
Good to see. I also seen Hughie Furys IFL interview was viewed by big numbers, several times more than he normally gets. So being in channel 5 worked for him. If he has his next couple of fights on there and does the business it will really help him if he does a ppv afterwards.
Great viewing figure, like people have said the advertising for this fight was poor so 1.5 mill is massive. The Furys are going to run heavyweight boxing!!!!
Hi all, first ever post. It shows that there is demand for Boxing on UK television. Not the greatest viewing figures ever - far from it, of course - but with very little publicity and for 2 fighters who aren't exactly house-hold names either Channel 5 can be happy with those.
