I think Jacobs is the worst match up for him. Just as big, quicker, delivers his power shots more quickly (straighter) and crisply. But I'd love to see Hurd back up his statement and see the fight get made.
fighters talk smack about their weights all the time, big guys like to pretend to be small and small guys like to act as if they are big. Smoke and mirrors. Hurd looks like a different breed when he's in the ring with these other 154lbers, and Trout and Harrison are also big guys for the weight. The funny thing about Hurd saying Jacobs would be the easiest and GGG would be the hardest is I have been saying this for the longest time. Hurd doesn't have a very good style against a massive and big punching GGG. The only thiung Hurd can bank on is being younger and fitter. GGG is a nightmare stylistic match up for sure. Someone like Jacobs though would be quite a good match up. Jacobs can be forced in to a dog fight pretty easily. Jacobs is very chinny and hittable too. Jacobs main defense against pressure is to attack. Jacobs didn't need to do much against GGG because GGG was very lazy. GGG didn't press the action very much and was only throwing jabs.
I think Hurd shouldn't eat flush punches from a guy that can punch at the next weight class up. Hurd is so damn flat footed, Jacobs will be able to sit down on his shots. Hurd may get KO'd. But if Hurd can take a punch at middleweight, he could cause Jacobs problems later in the fight if he is able to pressure him. Hurd assumes, he will be able to wear down bigger guys, the same way he wears down smaller ones.
