I knew fine well you were joshing mate, just decided to sound like a boring twat for ONE POST ONLY. I know **** all about nutrition really mate.I'm a shitty eater and the health trip's only been forced on me against my will!atsch
Of this list, only Alexander and Jacobs had accomplished little to nothing as pros. That cannot be said for Lopez or Williams.
Do people even have the same definition of a hype job? Seems it's ANY fighter with a fanbase who loses. atsch To me, a hype job is a fighter who has not done jack ****, yet gets the star treatment. Berto was a hype job to an extent. Ortiz up to the Maidana fight. Alvarez may prove to be a hype job. And I'd say JCC jr is one at the moment.
Hype job imo is a guy who gets hyped up to be the next best thing but loses and gets exposed before even stepping up to the top level.
I was a bit hesitent on Jr. It's taken him QUITE a long time, but I'd say you're right. Canelo has yet to beat a guy ranked in the top 5 of his division, yet many have him #2 behind #1 cotto (who himself has not). They get high ranking at JrMW based on star power (Canelo) and lower weight accomplishments (Cotto) it seems.
Hyped by who though? Just fans? Because fans can be completely irrational at no expense of the fighter, and can apply to almost anyone who loses. Which is why I limit what I think a hype job is to the added star power assigned. Like calling a fighter a star before he even proves it in the ring. But fair point. :thumbsup
I guess 154 is a division without a face, so Cotto who's had the most high profile fights takes the number one ranking. Canelo bugs me, he beat a Domestic level WW for the WBC 154lbs belt, Rhodes is a legit defence, but what he's done since just flat out sucks and Mosley isn't much better. Chavez isn't the man, just a belt holder; he needs to fight Martinez; though I have this dreadful feeling that he will end up fighting Margarito :-(
