Armstrong comes stormin in making it a fight. Alexis loves pressure and gets into the war where he does really well and the boxer prevails in a brillint fight with the ending coming down to the last round.

Edwin Rosario vs Estebna DeJesus at LW over 15

 

Wow, Dejesus is boxing really well, staying close, gets dropped, gets up, takes a beating, Dejesus weathers it, Rosario is confident, a goes for a ko, a war ensues and Rosario almost stops him, he weathers it again, starts to box defensively, a la moving a lot, then shows his heart and counters to a decision.

But Rosario can stop him on another day imo.

Max Baer vs Ingemarr Johansson

 

Brown via late TKO in a tough fight if Tony uses his plaster. Brown via one sided beatdown if somebody actually checks Tony's gloves pre-fight.

 

Max Baer is the touhger guy i can see Ingo landing his Bingo early and itbouncing off of Baer and Baer landing afew of his own and making Ingo bounce of the canvas

Nice avvy, Gomez for me, he is in a great fight here though, i see him landing hard shots when MAB comes forward and being stronger inside. Goes to the wire for me. Gomez on points.

Diego Corrales vs Flash Elorde at 130.

 

Have to go with Elorde in a UD. Chico will have his moments, but it's flash for me.

Paul Williams .Vs. Pipino Cuevas. Cuevas against a "Hearnsish" type fighter, without the devistating punch. 15 rounds. 147 Lbs.

 

Hmmmm... I think Elorde uses his speed and left-hand to triumph in a close, hard-fought battle in which both fighters possibly hit the canvas along the way.


Kid Gavilan vs. Mike McCallum @154

 

I really only ever thought that Williams and Hearns were alike in one way, their frame! But anyway, i don't think Cuevas particularly has the style to exploit what i think can be sloppy tendencies in Williams' make-up. For Cuevas its simply can he stop Williams? Williams for me is a bit of a swarmer wether he does it up close or outside, key is to box him i think and counter his not so sharp shots, but as we know thats not Cuevas.

**** you can see where i'm going with this, i don't really like Williams too much as a fighter (not personal, he's okay in that way), but i think he can do this, but i'm reluctant aren't i?

Erm, Cuevas by stoppage, hahahaha!

Barney Ross vs Oscar De La Hoya

 

I hate these fights, two versatile greats, what to say what to say.

I think McCallum may have the beating of him at 154 pounds. hr boxing could go either way, maybe Gavilan is better with his speed, but i see the ring craft of McCallum getting the fight at close quarters, where it's special to watch. Gavilan does a lot of good fast work inside with the amazing combos, but i think McCallum's strength could mean a lot when he sweeps the later rounds on the ropes to get a decision

 

Ross, the master inside technician, takes it to DLH and outworks & outskills him at close quarters. DLH's powerpunching makes it a close and competitive fight, but he fails to match Ross' pace and consistency, particularly in the late going, and loses a decision - provided the fight isn't in Vegas.

Kid Gavilan vs. Terry Norris @154

 

Well i could just say Norris because i rate him as one of the greatest at this weight, but i actually think Gavilan can win this. Norris really is terrible, but i don't see him putting a dent in Gavilan and Gavilan can keep going all night, i don't see Norris as exploiting any stamina problems for some reason. Gavilan to put on a gutsy performance and pull out a decision.

Please let me know if you feel strongly that i'm wrong, cos i'm interested in this one some more.

Bernard Hopkins vs Michael Nunn

Payback time!

 

Hopkins in a wide UD victory, Never liked the lazy,featherfisted Nunn.

Nino Larocca .Vs. Paulie Malignaggi 12 Rounds. 147. Lbs. Purely a boxing match, destined to go 12 rounds.

 

Larocca on points, never actually saw him fight, but Malignaggi's not for me!

Dwight Muhammad Qawi vs Bob Foster

 

You would swear you were watching prime Muhammad ALi. EXACT moves, which Ali had. until he faced Don Curry.

Qawi giving Foster all kinds of trouble, but in the end. Qawi would end up like Dick Tiger courtesy of the "Left Hook" of the law from Sheriff Foster!
