All I know is Gamboa schooled a better version of Salido than the one that pushed Lomas **** in :elboinas:

I didn't think I'd be on here defending Arum anytime soon but here I am laughing that a promoter is getting called out on getting a little bit excited about arguably the sports p4p number 1... WHO HE PROMOTES HIMSELF.

Not sure what match you watched, but Gamboa didn't school ****, he barely won the match I had it 112-111 Gamboa, and yes like Loma, he had Salido badly hurt the last round, but unlike Loma, Gamboa got dropped and rocked a few times, oh yeah.... and it was Gamboa's EIGHTEENTH fight as a pro, which really should be taken into consideration.

Here's my rundown from my scorecards thread.

Yuriorkis Gamboa vs. Orlando Salido 12 Rounds @ Featherweight. September 11, 2010

    Round 1 Gamboa 10-9
Cleaner harder shots landed by YG, Salido was aggressive but ineffective.
Round 2 Salido 10-9, close Salido blocked and rolled most of YG's shots, landed cleaner.
Round 3 Gamboa 10-9 Gamboa unleashes flurry early, controlled Salido throughout, Salido closed well.
Round 4 Gamboa 10-9 Gamboa landed blistering 4 punch combo early, lit Salido up for the rest of round.
Round 5 Salido 10-9 Best round for Orlando so far, he did solid work to the body, landed clean rights up top.
Round 6 Salido 10-9, close Back and forth round, Salido catching anc countering with non stop barrage to body.
Round 7 Gamboa 10-9 Clear Gamboa round, he flurried early, and potshotted cleanly the rest of the round.
Round 8 Salido 10-8 Big round for Siri, he drops YG with overhand, lands several clean bombs, has YG holding a lot.
Round 9 Salido 10-9 Gamboa's activity has dropped, Siri worked body and landed hooks throughout.
Round 10 Gamboa 10-9 Dominant round for YG, counter from the outside, then badly hurt and nearly drop Siri late.
Round 11 Gamboa 10-9 Headclash early, Siri is cut on forehead, YG dances around wins round with ease.
Round 12 Gamboa 8-7 Siri slips on paint, BS KD, Gamboa legit drops him, docked two points for hitting while down.

    Gamboa 112-111

The fact that this fight is misremembered as this one sided schooling annoys the **** out of me, I guess its just urban legend at this point, the fact is Salido shaded the 2nd and the 6th with more volume, while his underrated defense went seemingly unnoticed, Gamboa was connecting with Siri's gloves more often than not. Siri won the 5th and the 8th big, and outworked him in the 9th. The first knockdown was crap in the 12th, he slipped on the paint on the ad in the middle of the ring, the second was legit though, and the two points docked from Gamboa were very valid deductions. Gamboa's performance against Salido in his 18th professional fight, all things considered is actually less impressive than Lomachenko's. Loma wasn't dropped or hurt, wasn't hit clean very often, as opposed to Gamboa who ate several bombs clean, Loma also didn't lose any one round as badly as Gamboa did a few. Also based on styles, Gamboa should have had more of an advantage than Loma did, but Gamboa's poor ring IQ threw that out of the window. Loma showed better ring IQ, far more maturity and an ability to adjust than Gamboa did, and in my opinion put on the more impressive performance of the two.

Salido is 39. He'll be dining out on his win when he's 69. Time for us all to move on from Salido...

Loma could put it to rest if he beat a top pressure fighter.

I'm just saying I have to wonder if Loma has the power to beat a top pressure fighter.

Like a scaled down Shawn Porter I think gives him hell.

If you (Or anyone else for that matter) can't tune out media hyperbole or overzealous fans of a fighter, then a message board isn't the place for you.

Maybe you need to email Bradley or Tessitore and tell THEM to calm down. o_O

Fans get excited, especially when there hasn't been anything to get really excited about in a while. If the excitement bothers you, stay off the message board.
