    ..Canelo vs. Cotto..i think
Canelo wins 5th or 6th rnd.(tko).basically same fight as Kirkland..Maybe Canelo will push him to retirement.Cotto might announce his retirement after the fight..
Its gona have great moments back and forth action..punching power of Canelo will be the difference.in this fight
Well see how close i am..nothing against Cotto-(Cotto is an awesome fighter)..but i just think he shouldnt stay in boxing any longer..hes got his health--thats #1..he should not risk that any longer.
    What do you guys think?..
    Predictions?

Yea it's true he had to give up 10k for not making weight. A manager, can only do so much, the corner, the trainer are in charge of the training. They knew the weight for more than 6 wks. The kid has a history of coming in overweight. His father is the trainer, his cousin was the asst. a friend was also in the corner, the only experienced guy was the cutman.
This was his chance, and he had an inexperienced corner, they had no clue or plan on how to fight Saul. It's sad cos he was up for better opportunities if he won, now IDK.

..like they say--the devil is in the details..he was doing good! protecting himself very good.he just lowerd his guard little too much ...
..no experience in his corner?--..not good for him..
We've all seen fights that great fighters loose- just cos of basic details..Lewis vs. Rahman.(Lewis imo..thought Rahman couldnt hurt him)...Kostya Tszyu vs Zab Judah..(why did Zab try to get up in one sec?..its behond me..cos why not take advantage of at least 7 sec.in one knee..and let your mind clear)..Duran vs Hearns..M.Nunn vs. Toney..list goes on..
But its because they dont know what to do in a situation like that..
.nobody tells them ..and some fighters. dont have the correct instinct on what to do in a bad situation..
    Amir Khan vs. Prescott..
If a fighter is rocked with a hard punch.imo...HE SHOULD NEVER try to fight back in that same instant..cus hes at a disadvantage--i think its better for the fighter to hold..until he clears his head..just little things like that can save a fighter from a bad situation .it can make a difference in a fight.

You can tell them and tell them, but when that "fight back" instinct turns on it short circuits the thinking part of the game.

I think your fighter can come back..
If his heart is still in boxing..but some fighters once they lose couple of times, get discouraged..others take it as a learning experience..and want to fight even harder ..i think he should get experienced people in his corner though.
The fight that id like to see--Canelo vs. GGG
Wich other good fight is coming up?

Demps..you as a manager-how much is normal for a manager to advance $ to a fighter?.weekly..monthly?.on top of that-do managers take care of other expenses?(car..equipment..sparring..etc)

It depends on the deal, they can do all the above, or none at all. Also depends on the % the manager is asking for. Usually a manager who provides, a signing bonus, training expense, equipment maybe rent money, is going to stipulate that he be paid back for the money he laid out for training and other reasonable expenses. Remember whatever deal you make it's up to you to read the contract and negotiate the deal.

    Ok thnx..
Couple questions..at fight night-can each fighter wear his preference of glove brand?..say Cleto Reyes..and the other guy Grant gloves?..if not, does the sanctioning body dictates what style/brand to use?..
    also,
From your many years experience with your fighters and trainers -which brand do your trainers/fighters seem to like the most for sparring..and bag work?.im pretty sure Jesus Chvz used Winning? cos of his injuries..but aside from that-
.whats your preference on the many brands outthere -why?
    Thnks

The gloves have to be pre-approved by the local commission if the gloves provided by the promoter let's say EVERLAST and you want to use WINNING gloves you have to provide an extra pair in case they have to be replaced sometimes at fighters expense or if contractually required the promoters expense.
If you have hand problems, WINNING, or Grants, some brands have different models to choose from like EVERLAST. REYES GLOVES are punchers gloves. GRANT gloves will make gloves to fit your hands each fighter is different. WINNING gloves and equipment are expensive, my guys like the WINNING cup cos it's lighter.

Random question, what do you think of this new WSB (World series boxing) and the removal of headguards from the amateurs? Are the AIBA trying to colonise professional boxing by merging amateurs into the mix? What the f are they doing?

Ck out: AIBA LIED TO WSB PRO FIGHTERS, to me personally I have seen the damage that WSB/AIBA, can do to a fighters career, being part of the WSB/AIBA. I have advised boxers pro and amateur against being a part of WSB/AIBA. Recently a Puerto Rican fighter turned pro who was 1-3 in the WSB/AIBA. The promoter was going to turn the kid down, as he said, "what am I going to do with a 1-3 guy?". Another Puerto Rican fighter, is looking to turn pro cos the Puerto Rican commission told him he had to sign with WSB/AIBA if he wanted to be on the Puerto Rican Olympic team. This kid had an excellent chance to make the team, he lost by one point to Felix Verdego in the last Olympic run. The kid said no to the WSB/AIBA and now is looking to turn pro cos he has no shot at the Olympic's now. Read that article it will enlighten you.

P, to give you an idea ck out the first vid I ever saw of Alex Saucedo, vs Tony Losey. That's all I had to go on but it was enough to get him a deal.
