I know he went down against bernard but that was a good shot, he wasnt hurt it just caught him off balance. Lacy was a bomber just like Pavlik, if you cant land ****, what can he do?

How can Calzaghe be looking to "cash out" when he's been making big money at home for years?

I'm so glad we will get jones calzaghe ..stylewise it will be entertaining. As far as Pavlik goes how can you not agree with Joe ? Kelly should continue to build his name . People talk about it being meaninful but to whom ?

If Kelly does build up his name the fight is more meaningful . Right now its just a thirst quencher .

Joe called. Kelly answered. I think win or lose, Joe won't be fighting Kelly. Win, he retires. Lose, he looks for someone he can beat or still retires rich.

Joe called. Kelly answered. Joe dropped the connection............. (dail tone)

Calzaghe v Jones would still be interesting but i have a feeling if it happens its just going to be frustrating to watch such a shot Jones, i can see him showing bursts of excitement but his workrate will just be plain gone and Calzaghe will easily outwork him. I would much rather see the Pavlik fight.

Anyone who compares Pavlik to Lacy is just being plain disrespectful, Lacy hasn't fought anyone quality. Kessler was a great win for JC but obviously he isn't going to get much of a wrap by US fans for that effort. Pavlik would be completely different, especially because hes a warrior and even if he loses he surely will go on to win other big fights.

Do you have a link to that? Because I get the feeling that Joe really likes money and if 10 million £ was offered he'd have signed on the spot.

Damned followed so many links to this story I don't know which is which. Just read through some of the earlier threads. That is where I got the link.

I can't find it. Just looked, but in one of the earlier threads today, someone pointed out that it was not 10 million dollars but 10 million pounds. I remembered noting the difference when I saw it but not knowing the current conversion rate, I have stuck to pounds.

He has stressed numerous times he has one fight left and intends to retire this year! Unless he does a total U turn, there is no question about that.

Jones will be his last ever fight(if that fight is made), or if a remached is called for (V unlikely).

Something I remember from a thread from ages ago,
Now you have to sing this to the tune of "he's got the whole world in his hands", ok here we go...."there are two dollars for every pound, there are two dollars for every pound"
I think Joe would have definately signed for 20 million $.

You'd think, though if RJJ offers the same cash...... I see references to the amount in the threads but I can't find the original link so I won't swear to it at this point. Maybe repetition got to me, but I usually am pretty careful with the facts, or at least the facts 'as printed'. ;)

Then why didn't he? Lockett, who says he has sparred often with Joe, went in as the sacrificial lamb. Enzo went home and told Joe; "fight Jones, and never, ever, go Ghost hunting!"

Why sould joe fight the hardest guys when he will be lorded non the less for taking the easier fights.

Everyone now thinks Pavliks god for knocking up Locket. The guy shouldnt have even been in the same ring.

You can fool most the people most of the time, when it comes to boxing.

As Pavlik showed in the Taylor rematch. He is more then some damned slugger. The guy is accurate with his punches and dont throw wide ******ed hooks a la jeff lacy(dip**** arran) Pavlik comes straight forward but he punches straight and hard. Kessler was too much of a cautious ***** fighting Joe. Pavlik will take Calzaghes slaps and eat them for breakfast and bust Calzaghes **** all up. Calzaghe may be able to slap and run to a win or steal rounds but he is getting ****ed up like everybody who fights Pavlik. You are going to come out all ****ed up regardless of the outcome.

Pavlik was godly b/c Lockett was obviously a tough guy and Pavlik hurt him with punches that he blocked or partially blocked. Im pretty sure he felt some decent power punches before but Pavlik just brung the pain and ended him. :D
