School Dawson? I think Hopkins will have to beat Chad to the punch and slow the pace down. He will have to counter him and hope Dawson's punch output decreases. This was easy to do against Pascal who had terrible conditioning and gassed during the 2nd half of the fight. Also the Pavlik fight was 4 years ago and alot has happened since then. This is an older and also slightly less confident Bernard who is going to be fighting a boxer who is much more skillful and hungrier than Pascal and Pavlik. I really don't see Hopkins beating him, I hope he makes it competitive, however I feel Dawson will win this clearly. Also Chad is very confident, I don't think Hopkins is going to get into his head. He knows the gameplan and will stick to it well and leave with the decision.
Since Calzaghe. There are a couple of things that are troubling me. The first is the possible quit job. I didn't like what I saw there. The second is just a wee one, but he seems obsessed with Shaw right now. He's not that into Dawson these past couple of days. It's Hopkins, so it's probably OK but I just want him to remain focused.
A motivated Chad Dawson beats any version of Bernard Hopkins..? just a stylistic problem for Hopkins. He cannot cope with athletic fighters with above average ring IQ's. Its the reason why Jermaine Taylor beat him twice, Joe Calzaghe beat him, and Roy Jones beat him, and also the reason why a shot Roy Jones reduced Hopkins to acting and lying like a soccer player. The build up to this fight is strange, i would not be surprised if Bernard Hopkins pulls out, or some kind of disturbance happens between both camps. Bernard Hopkins knows his limitations inside of the ring and is very calculated man, the only reason why he is fighting Chad Dawson..? Is because he needs to hold onto this WBC belt..? without it..? he is just another old boring fighter. His actions in the first fight back fired on him, because people are not stupid..? he balantly was not injured, and has a track record of being abit of a crafty phony. "There has never been any proof or evidence of any injury, there has never been no MRI scan because..? Because Hopkins was lying, lying to the fans, media and himself." Hopkins ability and achievements are abit overrated, he is not a great GREAT fighter in my opinion in terms of ability. When you break it down technically, anybody can see this. He has been a crafty person, and knows what fights to take..? he is always in the right place at the right time. Chad Dawson April 28th..? Wrong place, Wrong Time..? Game over. If Hopkins fights a honest fight, he will be stopped on his feet, knocked out, or he will quite in his corner, or maybe he will just be totally shut out and beaten down over 12 rounds. But i doubt Hopkins is the type of fighter to go out on his sheild like a real warrior.
Not what I meant he would not fight Calzaghe without all the clinching, grabbing, wrestling, holding, and faking low blows. It was a disgraceful fight.
Yep school him :deal Chad isn't confident, just look at how he acted when the fight ended the way it did and look at what he said during the post bout press conference that is not someone who is confident that is someone who is emotional and angry. Two of the worse traits to take into a fight. Besides what has he done to be confident about? He went awol in the Pascal fight and lost that....then went back to Canada and put in a meh performance against Diaconu At the end of the day love him or hate him Bernard has done enough (Winky/Tarver/Pavlik/Pascal x 2) for me to believe he can do this one more time against almost anyone especially Bad Chad. He may lose I picked him to beat JT both times and I was convinced he would definately do it the second time round but I dont think Im wrong this time.
If you mean Hopkins will win the way Green would out-muscle Ward on the inside then yes, Hopkins will win.
Okay point 1) Yes he was angry and emotional! However instead of leaving it at that, you have to ask WHY was he angry and emotional? And the answer is clear, he was settling into the biggest fight of his career and was looking great. In his mind it was a great start and he could've gone on to win, however Hopkins spoilt it all by 'faking' his injury. This will make anyone angry, how would you feel if someone offered you a scholarship to university and tore it up before you could get your hands on it? It's good he showed that frustration because we saw how motivated and hungry Dawson is, which will only spur him on in the rematch. Also point 2) Why so confident? Well he lost to Pascal, who then got schooled by Hopkins twice. Now troubling and unsettling Hopkins would be a massive confident boost because in the division, Chad Dawson is the main man again and the way he handled Pascal in the press conference would only enhanced his confidence. He has the desire to reclaim his position at the top and avenge his loss to Pascal and confidence will be the key to that. Im a huge Hopkins fan, but this is just a bit too much for him. Dawson UD
