Mosley has one of the best chins in boxing. Margarito has been down a few times im sure of it, but his chin does seem to be iron of late! Maybe it is a bit overrated though

I had that same kind of dream about the Taver vs Bhop fight and while the dream was a bit different (taver got KO'd) Bhop still won and it was still a dominating figt for Bhop.

I already had Marg by TKO over Cotto...I know, i know I'm the minority but I think the boxing world in general will be surprised how good Marg preforms in a couple of weeks and I'm sure it will send shock waves throughout the sport when Marg pulls off the upset.

I guess that bronx has reasons to have dreams and King Dan has good advise to give to Cotto. The whole point is to realise that either man can go down hard and flat on their back... But the way they can avoid such a situation should be the key to win the fight... And the big puncher Cotto has to rely on boxing skills more than Margarito has! That tells me that Cotto will be hard pressed to avoid exchanges and that has to give the mental edge to... Margarito! No doubt Cotto will have to land some bombs and build an edge early so that he can follow King Dan's advice and look to win a decision like against Mosley. My idea is that bronx is not fantasizing too much at night - his deepest subconscious fears are just coming up to the surface.

Great post.....I 100% agree. Cotto has to box if he wants to beat Marg...that means try to avoid exchanges too often. I think Cotto should pick his battles in terms of trading with Marg.

He shouldn't box 100% of the time b/c he'll have to give Marg something to think about and show him different looks, but for 90% of the fight he needs to be on his toes, giving angles and countering.

height and reach are going to be huge disadvantages for Cotto. The question is....will Cotto's heart be too big and get in the way of sticking with the game plan and that's to box Tony? I think Tony will be able to MAKE Cotto bang with him far more than he is suppose to and that will be the difference.

Pffft.... That's delusional. Cotto has never been that explosive ever in his life. Ever.

I think it's a 45/55 fight with Cotto having the Edge. Your dream can very well become a reality.

Go ahead, please do. I just watched the first round of Margarito/Clottey - when exactly are you claiming that Clottey "hurt" Margarito with a body shot in the first round? :?

Correct charlie. I also read your words as if they were my own... which doesn't mean that both of us are thinking right and others wrong. Still, Cotto has nothing to gain mixing up way too often and that means what you said - box on his toes, giving angles and countering - which is precisely what Tony can't do. Tony has problems turning and stepping in smoothly and he can't really block, duck and fire away in the fast countermove. And Cotto needs to choose his opportunities and time well those combinations of monster power punches so that Tony doesn't get off and too carried away on offense.

This second part of your post about how Cotto will be tempted to bang away and disregard game plans for longer times (than expected) is the quintessential dilemma of when a banger/better boxer meets a banger. I have been saying this for too long - M A Cotto is no Floyd Mayweather ( and his fans don't want him to be) and he's not going to play another number on Margarito like Floyd played on Tata Baldomir... Cotto sees an open target and blasts away with huge shots and STAYS... If Margo doesn't go down or gets wobbly, he has no other options but to fire back with his own bombs and Cotto has to absorb. Again, the difference in this one is all about fighting heart and nothing to do with boxing brains... I see Margo giving him huge problems.

Stranger things have happened. People used to tell me that Cotto has a glass jaw, but I haven't seen evidence of that. I am still prdicting Cotto in this one though.
