I have a gut feeling that Dawson is going to get screwed.

It's been explained a hundred times what happened in the Bute-Andrade I fight.

The IBF rules were thoroughly discussed and after all this time going by...some still question the situation without knowing the facts...atsch

You don't even need to read the rules, just watch the video. Bute clearly gets up before the count of 10. The refs actions had no bearing on the outcome of that fight. Bute was knocked down with 5 seconds to go in the round and got up around 7. Even if the ref totally ignored Andrade and counted right away, Bute beats the count and the round is over.

 

But isnt bute more of an "adopted" canadian in that hes fighting outa canada but is actually a romanian. Im not sure if hes even a full canadian citizen yet while pascal moved to canade when he was very young so may be seen by some as more "canadian" than bute. But im sure both would have the home crowd right behind them when they fight alrite and that obviously influences officials as well as some other factors too :good(at times)

You should see the excuses they make about why their hero John Ruiz got crushed by a past it Valuev.

 

Foreigners can actually come to Canada and face a Canadian-based fighter and get a fair decision.

that's true but the point is that even if the actions had had a bearing on the outcome of the fight, it doesn't change the fact that the ref followed the rules and showed no bias.

4. When a contestant has been knocked down, the referee will order the standing contestant to the farthest neutral corner and begin the count. If the contestant standing leaves the corner before the count has been completed, the referee shall discontinue the count and order the standing contestant back into the corner. The count will not resume until the standing contestant has returned to the neutral corner.​

YOU'D REALLY HAVE TO BE A ****** TO BE UNABLE TO UNDERSTAND THIS ****IN SIMPLE RULE.​

 

The problem though is that it appears that Andrade was already in the neutral corner when the ref demanded that he go to the neutral corner.

I don't think this ref was biased at all. He is a Montreal ref who works for both major promotional organizations and lets not forget that Andrade's trainer was Grant who is a Jamaican Montrealer like Marlon Wright and that they know each other pretty well.

I think he followed the rules to the best of his abilities and got alot of flak for it because the rules just so happened to favour the hometown guy, even though like you said he got up within 8 seconds anyways.

 

You Dawson fans are pathetic, crying that there will be a repeat of the Montreal Screwjob! Keep the excuses coming.

 

I just watched the video again. Bute gets knocked down. The ref doesn't count right away as he tells Anrade to go to the neutral corner(no problem here). Right after this, Andrade goes to a corner, but not the neurtral one. The ref doesn't see this though as he's looking at Bute. He starts counting and Bute gets up. At this point, the camera is not focused on Andrade and we don't know where he is. The ref then turns around and yells at Andrade to get in the corner. We can't see Andrade but the ref is turned toward the nuetral corner. Now Bute was up as this point and the round is over, so it didn't affect the fight. However, the ref shouldn't have stopped and yelled at Andrade when Andrade appeared to already be in the neutral corner. Had the KD happened with say 30 seconds or so to go in the round, Bute would have had extra time to recover.

 

That's my point. Why give a warning to Andrade if he's already in the neutral corner?
Answer : corrupted mfer.

The referee even tried to block Andrade just before the final shot.
