Haye knows he can beat Wilder, I assume.

 

I think he is genuinely retired. I think alot of the thing with him pulling out of fights had nothing to do with physical injuries, it was that his heart was not in it any longer, and he realised this and feared losing too much to risk it on the line.

Yes his fight with Valuev was a real hoot. I think people forget he has been in some real rubbish HW fights. His HW reign was a joke and a con job to the paying fans.

 

Haye would of had a field day with either of them two , Wilder is so wide open and side on when he throws hes a sitting duck !!!! Stiverne needs to lay of the cakes and pizzas terrible shape

 

After such a long lay off? I'm not sure about that. Wilder is a big explosive lump. Say what you want about his boxing skills, but if Haye has lost a step, he could be in trouble. He'd need to take a few tune ups and depending on how he looks in those, we would have a better idea where hs is at.

It wasn't a con job though, was it. He beat a few people, Ruiz, Barret etc then beat the largest heavyweight in history to win a proper portion of the title. This while being small at the weight and a natural cruiser. He then fought Wlad and his tactics against the much, much larger man with the iron-jab was to run about and 'sting like a bee'. Haye was only ever an overhand right from putting any opponent over. What if he had decked Wlad at some point? his tactics would have looked clever then, no?

In the event he didn't and lost on point to the most dominant heavyweight of the decade and a potential ATG. Not exactly a con.

Before that, he was the unified cruiser champ, by the way.

 

I liked Haye at one time. But, I have to agree. He talked his way into a Klit fight, couldn't do anything with Wlad and made excuses about his toe. I'd rather watch Tarver's comeback, tbh.
