Theres nothing wrong with calling Bradley a ducker, he has blatantly ducked Khan. Look how it is recently Cloud ducked Erdei Bradley ducked Khan Mayweather / Pacquiao someone tell me who is to blame Ward ducked fighting abroad like all of the other original S6 fighters Dirrell seemed to duck out of the S6. Kessler and Taylor seemed to have genuine cases P Williams wanted certain stipulations before having a return with Martinez Hopkins ducked Jones and Calzaghe for years until he felt he had things to his advantage It seems the way at the moment, still theres Froch ducks nobody Kessler ducks nobody Judah ducks nobody Khan ducks nobody Cunningham ducks nobody Haye ducks nobody Cotto ducks nobody Morales ducks nobody Win or lose these fighters are willing to take chances
Yes, very disapointing. In the past, Bradley displayed signs of bravery, but he clearly ducked Amir Khan, who is an Euro Elite boxer.
I agree Bradley totally ducking Khan. Bradley fights and wins against Witter in his own back yard for the WBC title . He then wins the IBF and WBO titles. Khan then gets given the WBA title at home offers Bradley 400k for a unification. Bradley clearly ducks Khan for a pay day of 1.2 Mill at welter. I mean its only 800k Bradley would be losing , biggest duck in history.
Why is this fat motha****a so worried about us Americans?? Learn the topic you fat ****...its due to contract problems with Gary Shaw!atsch
Wrong. They werent guaranteeing him 1.2m for just ANY opponent. The opponent had to be approved by HBO. It's not as if he can say "hey I wanna fight Joe Blow over there, now pay me". It had to be a credible opponent worthy of HBO
He did say this. If i'm not mistaking, his exact words were "If I happen to lose to Khan, it would take me out of the Mayweather/Pacquiao sweepstakes. If that isnt a duck I dont know what is.
bradley is trying to run to a pacquiao payday. he's not running from khan. with that said, i would have liked to have seen this fight.
This is the story as I understand it: In October 2010, Bradley signs a two-fight deal with Shaw and HBO that is to last until June 30th 2011. This deal involves fighting Alexander first, and then Khan/Maidan afterwards. After Khan and Bradley win their respective bouts, HBO has a July 23rd date set for them. Unfortunately, this date comes 3 weeks after Bradley's deal with Shaw expires. Bradley agrees a 3-week extension so they could fit the Khan fight in like they promised. But Bradley is now advised by certain people to leave Shaw, and seek a promotional deal elsewhere. Shaw, in an attempt to persuade Bradley to honour his initial agreement, increase his offer from 1.2 mill, to 1.4 mill. Bradley says no. Team Khan, after hearing about Bradley's refusal, then try to entice Bradley by giving him a 50/50 split of UK revenues. This additional income, according Dan Rafael, would increase Bradley's total purse to 1.8 mill in total. Bradley, again says no. Bradley is now facing legal action from Shaw, who says Bradley did not honour his agreement. This is forcing him to sit on the sidelines, and have no immediate plans for a fight next. Conclusion: Bradley's decision to go back on his word, in the hope of landing a promotional deal with someone else (Top Rank) so that he could get a shot at a bigger guy (Pacquiao), is what's stopped the Khan fight from happening. However, the question pops up.... Pacquiao won't be available for a fight until mid 2012, so what's Bradley going to do in the mean time? Well, the obvious decision would have been to honour his agreement with Shaw - fight that final fight against Khan - and then be available as a free agent immediately after. But with his eyes on the bigger prize, Bradley's not too keen on taking any risks in the mean time. If he loses against Khan, he can kiss the Manny Pacquao fight goodbye. So yes, with all things considered, this is a temporary duck by Bradley.
