Anybody here remember Scott The Sandman Pemberton? great guy, great personality great heart, wars like Crazy with Sheika, and with Brewer. Sat on the shelf for a while at the end of his career only to get blown out by both Lacy and Manfredo, really likable guy. Well turns out retirement kicked him in the ass a bit and lead him down the wrong path back in 2007. that's a shame, I loved watching his fights with sheika and brewer on espn classic. great club brawls.
Sad ending for the guy really I feel bad for him he had all that heart all that will and didnt make **** got a good rating, but nobody really gave him a payday he had to give all he had in the sport and still resort to selling dope
I was always a fan of Scott Pemberton as well. He came from the mean streets and it looks like that's where he returned. I always remember him saying his amateur career was street fights.

Sad? I feel sorry? The dude used his boxing skill as an enforcer and sold dope and got busted for it. What reason is there to feel sorry for him?
Seemed like a stand up family kind of guy, I feel sorry for his family but I am not really surprised here. We heard plenty of related drugs stories with ex boxers unfortunately.
Its hard to feel sorry for Americans when penniless immigrants with little or no English can make a living, start a business and live the American dream.
Disappointed to hear that's the kind of person Scott was, but not too suprised. He put on some great action packed performances on ESPN (first fight I remember him in was with Charles Brewer), but he never made the big money. You just expected him to be like a SMW version of Mickey Ward, in and out of the ring.
Yea, was wondering that. I thought it was going to be about him being homeless or something. He could have got a menial job, anything for a few dollars. Its just seems another case of ex fighters not knowing what the real world is like and feeling sorry for themselves. Normal people got problems too, doesnt mean you become a drug dealer

What did you expect this guy woud do after committing himself to boxing? Unless he has a normal job it's kindof hard to explain a 10 year span with no work experience. Also, what skills, out of boxing, does boxing teach you. It's why Mosley will come back, why all these guys come back.
