Dont know how you can argue GGG isn't a KO Artist on the basis the corner stopped the fight before Brook went down.
True, forgot about that. Wonder if El Chicano will accept Golovkin is a KO artist if he lays Canelo out???
Golovkin breaks Brook skull=Golovkins power overrated.. Good one. Maybe Brook will prove to be quite durable & who knows what would have happened had it gone on longer? Golovkin would probably have KO'd him.. Or at least had multiple KD's on him. It only lasted 5 ffs.. It took Canelo 12 to TKO an ancient Ryan Rhodes LOL
It's all relative, neither Golovkin nor Abraham could stop Ian Gardner yet Chad Dawson bounced him around and did. No one should even dispute they both hit harder than Chad, sometimes you just can't finish a guy off, has nothing to do with power, it's just the style But Golovkin is more consistent heavy hands than lightning strike power, he's Vitali, not Briggs.
People talk about iron chins and power like it's a health meter in a video game. The reason he didn't knock down Brook is not entirely because of Brook's chin or Golovkin's lack of power, but Brook's ability to brace for a punch. Golovkin is heavy handed with great technique, that's it. He has exceptional timing and that allows him to catch guys at the perfect time. Canelo is strong, wouldn't surprise me if he's stronger than Golovkin but has less punching power. The difference is Canelo's timing isn't as great as Golovkin's. And his technique isn't as good either. Plus many other factors. OP's examples aren't great but I agree with his overall point. This fight goes the distance. Obviously anything can happen so I wouldn't bet my house, Canelo's chin, defense, and ability to counter should keep Golovkin honest. Knuckleheads say "Canelo can't stop Golovkin's onslaught, he's going to walk through Canelo". You couldn't be more wrong. Golovkin has experience, he understands that disrespecting Canelo can lead to a) getting himself knocked out and/or b) giving Canelo opportunities to get scoring blows. Golovkin needs his opponents to back up and sit on the ropes, typically. I don't think Canelo will retreat. Canelo needs to move forward and keep Golovkin in the center. I think Canelo has the edge in hand speed so he needs to use it, move forward and get off first. Don't let Golovkin get a rhythm and corner you. That said, I think Canelo does better than most expect. Golovkin moves forward, Canelo likes that. Canelo doesn't retreat, Golovkin won't like that.
I think Golovkin has more than enough power to stop Canelo if he is able to land on him. Canelo probably goes into survival mode or gets stopped.
Power wasn't much of a factor as Golovkin stuck to the jab and boxed at range. Lemieux has a short reach and can be boxed at range, he's befuddled by the jab. Check his last fight. Natural 160? Lol c'mon bro
He's not getting the KOs because he's not fighting cans anymore that's what happens when you start facing better fighters. I don't think he will stop Canelo either.
well he knocked out murray but groves and Abraham could not knock him out so does that mean murray is a can? and if Golovkin knocks out canelo will he become a bum?
