But how many really expected it, Floyd to be in an exciting fight (due to Maidana) and Khan to put on a Boxing clinic against a Solid fighter
Exactly! I saw Pac-Rios Canelo-Angulo PBF-Canelo Pac-Bradley 1&2 and this fight. I watch all big fights live either at a fight party, sports bar or at home.
$75 is a lot if you pay for it solo. 6-8 of us get together and it's cheaper than a movie. 1/2 my friends are Pac fans so I have had to endure some boring cards and main events lately. There's no doubt the Mayweather PPV have been better value.
Unlike pretty much everyone else, I said for a while that Maidana was going to give Floyd his toughest fight in years. El Chino did not disappoint. Was worth the money, even though the undercard was terrible matchmaking. (matchmaking > names, Khan and Broner showcases should have been on ESPN3 not PPV)
I stopped paying for PPV years ago doesn't mean I don't support the sport I love ! Not everyone has to be a sucker !
The way I look at it, I'd spend atleast 60 bucks at a bar in a typical night so even buying the card myself is still good value for an evening of something I love watching. Everyone watching at my friends was standing up three feet from the tv screaming at it for both the Floyd and khan fight. It's priceless.
You think the sport is dying ? With what Showtime is doing with their stacked cards if anything the future looks bright ..
maidana put on a show. its been a while . i havent seen floyd in a good or close fight in a long time.
