He fought guys the same size as himself, when weight drained, in a division stonger than the heavyweight division. Wlad however is and never had the excuse of being weight drained, and was always the bigger man in the ring.
I am a massive Haye fan, but its a 50-50 fight in my eyes. I'm not blind to Vlad's ring assets, especially the ramrod jab. IF Haye can find a way inside that jab his chances of a KO victory are very good. One thing I will say is that it will not go the distance (big surprise, I know); Haye will not be content to lose graciously, sitting on the outside getting pinged with the jab for 12 rounds (ala Ibragimov). Its a kill or be killed type of fight for him.
I don't think Haye beats Wlad. After all Wlad beat Thompson, while Thompson beat Haye. This is also why I think that Mike Tyson would beat Wlad: Because Wlad got beaten by Corrie Sanders while Sanders got beaten by Tyson. (tir)
Same. I'm not blind to the fact either that Wlad has just as much chance of knocking Haye out, I'm not saying he will definately win am I? All I want Klitschko fans to accept is that Haye has more than a chance of knocking him out, instead of coming up with the same load of bollocks, 'he has no chance', 'he's not proven', 'he'll get destroyed by the first decent heavyweight he meets', 'he's got a glass jaw', 'he has no chance of beating Klitschko'. Nevermind, they're only making themselves look foolish so I don't really give a ****.
I think the problem with people and this fight is they think if Haye can beat Wlad, Haye can beat all the heavyweights. While I don't know that that's necessarily untrue, I'm not trying to make that kind of an assertion. I just think that Haye matches up very well with Wlad. Like I said though, Vitali on the other hand, with his toughness, size, and skill, would make a very difficult fight for Haye. If I were Haye, at this point I would be reluctant to fight Vitali, but graciously accept one with Wlad because I think Haye will win.
You see it. It's about styles. While Wlad can outbox the majority of the heavyweight division, it's because there's nothing but a bunch of Sam Peters or straight ahead volume punchers like Povetkin. You get a guy that can move and box, while simeltaneously making himself a small target, it will be difficult for a tenative, upright boxer like Klitschko to hit Haye. It's unlikely that Klitschko will be able to effectively hit Haye to the body, so Haye should retain his speed and stamina, as long as he can keep calm, (which may be difficult if Klitschko manages to hit him flush a few times.) And if Klitschko brings the fight right to Haye and tries to brawl, I think Haye hold the advantage because of his speed. Haye is a guy who I think can outbox Klitschko because I think he has the finesse to take away his jab, and the offensive tools to make Klitschko pay for his mistakes.
He was not weight drained - that is propaganda and hype to make him seem larger than he really is. He is narrow shouldered and smalled framed - not a genuine heavyweight, and most of his bulk is steroid built. He is not a natural heavyweight by any means. regards
Styles indeed. That's a reason I think Gomez would be a tougher fight for Haye. He can punch, obviously not as hard as Wlad but hard enough, he's very skilled and has a better chin, if he doesn't get lazy and boxes for 12 rounds I think he could probably UD Haye, but Gomez isn't above Haye in terms of heavyweight rankings. So therefore if Haye beats Klitschko, it doesn't mean he can beat everyone.
Good one :rofl It's a tuff fight to call, but styles makes fights and Haye is a bad style match up for wlad and i lean towards haye shocking the world. I hope this fight happens to hear all the excuses if haye sparks out wlad lol
Look, what you should prefix such posts with is "I would hope" or "I like to see". At the moment all this is wishful thinking. I can't wait for Dr Steelhammer to put Haye down and out so we can clear the air of all this propaganda. regards
Wasn't weight drained? You ****. If I ask absoluely anybody that has a clue that comes in this thread, they will tell you Haye didn't make cruiserweight easily, and that he wasn't 100%.
This is a different Thompson - but this (heavyweight) Thompson would have dispatched Haye also. The Thompson Haye lost to was a puffed up Super Middleweight! regards!
I bet you said the same thing when he fought Lamon Brewster. It's happened before, what's to stop it happening again? Especially against a better fighter.
I don't understand...what makes Haye supporters think that Wlad isn't going to be able to deal with Haye? He has fought fighters just as fast as Haye with relative ease. Who has Haye been in the ring with that is going to prepare him for Wlad Klitschko? The real question should be, is Haye ready for the enormous jump in class? Has he ever fought a fighter in the caliber of Wlad Klitschko? The answer is not even close!! Haye fans should really be concerned about this fight...if Haye fans are not looking at this fight realistically, they should...their boy could very well get KTFO'd!!
