Well said! I also hope that the fight will have some good moments for Haye so that we can hope for a rematch.
I will explain for him... I have submitted a general gameplan for Haye against Vitali, that makes much more sense than anything Haye might be able to do against Wlad. I don't feel like typing everything again.. so I am going to copy paste out of context from a previous conversation.... Well... obviously it seems like David Haye is tailor made for Vitali. However, we are always thinking of Vitali as he was almost 5 years ago. To be honest... I didn't think that he looked like even 85% of what he was in his fight against Peter. His feet are stuck in mud, his reflexes are a bit slower... he still has good reflexes... but not like he did. Not surprising considering the fact that he has been inactive for so long, has had two surgeries... and his going to be 38 by the time he fights Haye. It's hard not to envision Vitali pounding Haye with counters as Haye lunges the way that he does, leaving himself wide open, and off balance. However, given Vitali's age, injuries, and inactivity level, it isn't impossible for me to see Haye beating him with speed if he has the right game plan. With Vitali's movement being slowed down, it would be much easier for Haye to land on him, and keep pushing the pace on the old man, seeing where his stamina is at. It would be smart for Haye to take what's there early... which would be the body. He should at LEAST be slamming jabs to Vitali's body for the first few rounds. That is going to put him in danger for right hand counters overtop, but that is where Haye needs to use his speed, and movement to slip to the side, and back out. Not to back straight out, but to attack, pivot, and get out.
It's doubtful he will get a rematch. I expect he will lose to whichever Klitschko he fights first and then maybe face the other one. Once he loses to both, the question of rematch probably won't come up.
You're having a ****ing laugh. I don't need fight footage; as a boxing fan I immediately know that Haye has faster hands than Ibragimov. Coming up through CW everyone commented on Haye's blistering hand-speed; at HW I have never seen anyone comment about Ibragimov's fast fists. Haye was an ultra-fast CW (hence that Matrix comparison - people have avatars on it); Ibragimov is nothing special in this category a division up from that. Where are you digging this **** up from; the punch resistance issue is another matter, but hand-speed is not up for question (Haye has by far the fastest punch delivery at HW; its not up for question)
I must agree! Its a pretty good description of what could happen, but Haye has much more chance vs Wlad, maybe not, but i think so.
I disagree. Wlad's speed is very underrated. Along with the fact that Wlad moves so much better than Vitali in the ring. His footwork is great for a big man, and it is damn near impossible to get inside on him if he doesn't want you to. On top of that... Haye will have much more trouble seeing Wlad's punches coming, than he would Vitali's. Everyone buys into the Wlad has a glass chin hype, and his opponents find out real soon when they are in the ring with Wlad that they aren't just going to go in there, catch him on the chin, and knock him out. Wlad has never had a glass jaw... and he has fixed the problems that used to plague him in the past. Does that mean that Haye can't win? Of course not... In the heavyweight division, especially when you are talented like Haye, anything can happen. However, he would have a much better chance of beating the 38 year old, injury riddled, inactive Vitali.
I hope he doesnt come with that "if I cant beat this guy, then I'll retire" cause he'll only be losing to the best HW out there.
Wlad will beat Haye IMO...Haye's chin isn't exactly great either and Wlad punches a lot harder...He can control the fight with the jab and land right hands behind his jab...
Great quote from your part....DUMB. Even if Haye lose to the Klit and he surely will , he willl not retire from the sport.
I agree to every point made. Let me also add that Wlad is faster + more experienced + has a better defense than Vitali, whose only defense seems to be to lean back.
Age is definitely a factor, but Vitali is a true fighter. That's the main difference between he and his brother. Vitali would put his pride on the line and slug it out with Haye, with enough self belief to fight until he wins or the ref stops him from recieving too much punishment or finally quits on his stool. Besides, from a technical standpoint, I think Vitali is better than his brother. Sure, he doesn't hit as hard, sometimes fights too straight up, (although he's 6'8'' and can get away with it), and isn't as athletic, but the way he positioned himself especially in his stance against Lewis, and his performance in that fight, told me everything I needed to know, while Wlad told me everything in his fight against Ibriganov on where he stands.
