I thought a straight right hand was the key to beating Pac?

Clottey scored very well on Pacquiao. About 1 of every 3 punches Joshua threw, he scored.

He was just buried in the avalanche of Pacquiao punches.

If you go by the numbers, Clottey needed to double the amount of punches he was getting off to be competitive and possibly win, but he couldn't pull it off. Got swamped. Not a statement at all on how a faster, more skilled, and technically tighter boxer like Mayweather would be able to do.

 

Clottey is by no means elite and Floyd is not too offensive either. The fight would be interesting but we'll have to wait and see if it actually gets made.

Ok, but you're indirectly comparing Floyd's straight right to Clottey's straight right. Two completely different fighters. The key is hand speed which Clottey does not possess. Another thing, Floyd is not a one trick pony. He has the ability to adjust. Watch the fight with Sharmba Mitchell. Floyd saw that Mitchell was moving his head a lot so he quickly went to the body and stopped him. Granted Mitchell is not elite material but it goes to show you Floyd can find a way to his target. Pac is a monster, no doubt about that. But let's not get carried away yet. Let's see what happens between Floyd and Shane first before you write off Floyd.

 

I once mentioned that I thought Clottey doesn't have the best of defenses.. got my head bitten off for that. I believe he choses to be defensive rather than him naturally being like that.

Mayweather on the other hand, he can give it aswell as he can block it.. a pure master of the sporT!

He is the smartest guy in boxing, he knows who he will and won't beat... and he's pretty happy to face pacman

Mayweather beats Pac most likely and plus the straight is his best punch. I predict Pac gets frustrated and May stays calm as usual winning by decision and maybe even by ko but unlikely.

Floyd has speed, and defense, and a will to win. Clottey pales in comparison to Floyd in those departments... The newbie alt is trying though lol...
