I Thought That Team Mayweather Didn't Return Dan Rafael's Calls?

Now, if you forget what I'm talking about or don't know, then this link will help fill you in:

    http://bit.ly/t4OG6x

According to Fight Hype, a website which many seem to view as favorable to Floyd Mayweather Jr., Team Mayweather -- at least as of just a few months ago, supposedly -- was not returning ESPN writer Dan Rafael's calls. See the above link for more information.

However, if that is the case, with the implication apparently being that Team Mayweather wasn't talking to Rafael, then how do you explain a story like this:

    http://es.pn/tZAFzR

...in which it appears as though Leonard Ellerbe of Team Mayweather talked extensively with Rafael?

As some know here, I've pointed out issues before I have as regards Fight Hype's credibility. Specifically, the entire debacle that occurred a few months ago regarding Pacquiao adviser Michael Koncz supposedly being "fired" (which seems to have never taken place).

Now, we may have another contradiction in a Fight Hype story/opinion. Is Dan Rafael being blown off by Team Mayweather as the first link seemed to imply? Or is he not? Was he ever? If so, and things changed, why did they change? Or is this another instance of a "Michael Koncz is fired"-kind of potential gaffe by the website?

    Thoughts or possible explanations? :huh

Well, I think that Fight Hype -- however well-intentioned they may be -- may be making some mistakes they could come to regret later.

Or, sadly, they may just be getting used by an interested party(-ies)

Wow. What a disappointing interview/article (Dan's one). And from a credible source too.

Arum, once again. Not even interested in sitting down with Team Mayweather, cause they're chasing a Marquez 4 bout.

Damn you. Damn you all to hell

No, the point isn't one of conspiracy, it's of credibility.

As in: Did Fight Hype possibly blow (another) story?

Does Team Mayweather talk with Dan Rafael or not? It seems they do, but Fight Hype said they do not.

I'm just curious what the deal is.

They're favoured by Mayweather, and having gained his trust/fondness, they're going through any and all lengths to keep it - whether it be telling just one half of the story, creating speculation, misrepresenting truths, etc. Being a relatively small boxing news source/outlet, they're now famed for their exclusive Mayweather interviews and any other bits of pro-Mayweather news, and are determined to stay that way now that they've acquired a loyal following (Mayweather fans) from it.

Forget the FightHype credibility. Most fanboy websites suck. The other article (from ESPN) kind of suggests that there is about a 1% chance that the fight will happen.

And it seems to be Arum behind it.

    You might be right.

I'm just curious what the disconnect on this Rafael story is.

    Whatever. :rasta
