Joshua has never had any inside game to impose — contrary to the popular opinion in some quarters, that mid-range uppercut does not remotely constitute an inside game, even when thrown immediately after breaking out of a clinch.

At this stage of his career, there was no question of him suddenly developing a significant enough degree of in-fighting nous to affect the strategic/technical proceedings of last night's bout.

Fury always would have mauled him whenever the action moved to close quarters. Those who were claiming that Joshua possesses the upper hand in in-fighting ability in that matchup have no idea what they're watching; and that uppercut never would have had an opportunity to land on Tyson, because it's only good for hitting a boxer who helpfully accomodates it by stooping in with his head sat helpfully on the center line.

Getting your ass kicked by Fury twice doesn’t strengthen your resume. Not AJ’s fault Wilders too scared to fight him

Lol maybe that works for Fury as he beat Wilder but that doesn't work for Wilder having really been beaten twice by Fury and if that's the case the Wilder win for Fury adds little to his resume. I think Joshua's wins over Wlad is better than Fury's win over Wilder.

Fact is Joshua still has the deepest resume in the division having beaten more big names. But Fury and now Usyk have the best single wins in the divison. Wilder in contrasts has a garbage resume, Ortiz for all we know is Chisora level or slightly above as Ortiz is still ducking anyone with a pulse other than Wilder which was a cherry pick gone wrong for team Ortiz.

Over paid bum is what he is.
    The hype is over.
Would any of you pay premium pricing to watch Joshua fight his next bout?

It kinda does, Wilder was champ. Two of the best have duked it out, AJ meanwhile is getting beaten all over the show by contenders.

Wilder's is obviously poor - but I think a big asterisk against AJ's resume is the 0 fights as an away fighter. MSG and Saudi he was still the de facto home fighter.

I appreciate he's the A-side and cash cow, but being the home fighter gives you every possible marginal advantage.

Fury's two best wins are as an away fighter and for me that's very impressive.

Joshua barely beat an old Wlad who had him almost KOd. AJ is out of the picture now, he keeps losing to anyone who isn't old and/or hopeless.

Ok so Wilder getting his ass completely handed to him twice automatically means his resume is better than AJ’s, yea ok I’ll finish discussing with you right here:lol:

What a load of BS. Sure Wilder was willing to fight Fury but that was a cherry pick gone wrong lol. Wilder isn't one of the best, he's the most over protected heavyweight of this era. Wlad and Povetkin, two Joshua victims would of KO'ed Wilder hence why he ducked both those fights for years.

You could argue Wilder isn't top 5 during his time as champ, Fury, AJ, old Wlad, Povetkin, Usyk all better than Wilder. The idea Wilder is top anything other than top ducker of serious threats is a joke.

Being an away fighter definitely adds to his resume but I don’t think it makes up for making title defenses against really good fighters

You still can't dispute that two of the top three fought each other and the other has been beaten soundly twice by contenders. AJ is irrelevant now.

Joshua fought in the pocket in spots against Whyte, Takam and beat up Klitschko on the inside in round 5. Fury is a better inside fighter and Joshua usually fights at mid range but saying Joshua has never had ANY inside game is just false.

    LOL

Are you still propagating this "best record in division" myth?

He's had one fifty-fifty his entire career and that was against Fury's sloppy seconds, who he went life and death with. Well, he's had two now and he lost it by a landslide. He has also been battered by a useless slob who couldn't even wobble the ghost of Liakhovich but made Joshua give up.

Beating fake "top 10" guys like old Pudding Pulev (who has never beaten anyone), Paint Dry Parker, Big Tits Breazeale, Tickling Takam, Martin, Maths Teacher Molina, out of shape and injured Whyte, Old Povetkin who has never won a belt.... does not equate to best record.

Best record must be weighed up by wins and losses and no amount of mediocre wins over "top 10" useless heavyweights will override two comprehensive losses with only one truly top win, and even that was life and death against an old man with everything stacked in his own favour.

    You're completely deluded.
