I watched De la Hoya vs Mosley II last night and it seemed clear that Oscar won....

I was a BIG de la hoya fan (definitely boarderline oscarsexual) at the time. I think i gave it to him by a point. didnt really care though. could have gone either way was what I felt at the time.

It was such a boring fight that I couldnt be arsed watching it again to verify :dead

    I thought DLH narrowly won.

It should be 1-0 for SSM with 1 no-contest. Shane was juiced in the rematch.

The problem with having seen the fight on t.v. is that you hear the commentators who were heavily favouring DLH, and that WILL affect your judgement.
I thought a draw in this fight would have been perfect. The thing about pro boxing is that there is not one specific criterium by which you score.
It's not: "i hit you more often than you hit me and i win the fight"-that's olympic boxing.
It's also not:"i hurt you more than you hurt me and i win"-that's more like streetfighting.
So it's kind of a combination of those things, and looking at it like that, i think they both won one part of the scoring.

That just goes to show you just how detrimental an announing team like HBO's can be to those watching at home.

I've always said that if fights were shown on TV without any audio.....there would be very few forums like these where people talk boxing.

Its a reality....people need to be fed and reinforced what they think they're seeing. In alot of cases with posters around forums like these, they would'nt know where to begin anayzing what just happened in a fight if they did'nt have the Lampley's of the world telling them so.

There is no coincidence that those who watched the fight live and in person (especially the boxing media) came away with the opinion that Shane Mosely clearly deserved the verdict vs DLH!

Imo, Shane Mosely clearly won the fight by around a 3 or 4 point margin!

I won't say that I agree with but would like to know what does one given individual who agrees with a clear Hoya decision make up of three identical official scores 115-113 for Mosley in a Bob Arum Promotion.

"Ineffective aggressor"......thats a term used quite often around here when someone is trying to take someone's hard earned victory from him.....:yep

......I'd like to be as ineffective as Mosely was that night.....from media reports, DLH was letting out woman like noises everytime Mosely laid gloves on him!

I was about to ask the same thing. If so, send me one too! I've been looking for this one for awhile. The first one's even better. But I remember it clearly for DLH (by clearly I don't mean DLH was kicking Mosley's ass only that he seemed one step ahead of him the whole time.)

DLH's early fight dominance was exaggerated, as was Mosley's late fight dominance. Some of the earlier rounds were close, as were rounds 10 and 11.

Hilarious, I watched Hatton-PBF stinking drunk and thought Hatton was beating the **** out of Floyd, I even felt sorry for Floyd and when KO happened I remember thinking WTF. Looking back on it sober I laughed at the difference in perspective and could see the ko coming from round 1.

That's what I remember the most clearly as well and I think it was Larry Merchant who asks if he thought he deserved to win, at which point Shane stuttered something but did not look like he believed what he said. He is a very honest guy and you could tell he didn't think he won. Same as when Oscar gave post fight interview against Sturm and though he won could not shake the disappointment from his face

Absolutely not, and history will view it the way I described it......there were alot of 116-112 scorecards in favor of Mosely coming from the written media.

You said it yourself, you're a DLH fan, and the only conclusion I can come up with is that you watched the fight through rose colored glasses.

I also remember Shane sayin that the only one who questioned it was Oscar's father and that he and Gary Shaw laughed about the robbery claim. Hoya said he could not beat that guy and since he lost to Bernard too, joined his enemies to control them and get himself in front of them and the best fights out there. I also remember the HBO score of 115-113 for Hoya and how Foreman was developing a conspiracy theory against Arum in Vegas and Larry trying to bring him to his senses... Hoya lost to Tito, lost to Mosley twice and he wanted a third fight with Shane to prove what? Lost to Bernard and again to Mayweather, now wants to prove something once again against the same Mayweather... I would like to terminate this by saying that Hoya was almost losing a step, unsteady on his feet when Mosley distorted his face and almost separated him from his senses in the very first round... Judges saw that, we all saw it - Oscar could only have won it if he had imposed himself physically on Shane which is something he couldn't do, just turned it into a boxing match...
