Let me derive this. I have been on record for a long time saying that Fury-Wilder III isn't happening.

    https://www.boxingforum24.com/threa...f-interest-could-kill-fury-wilder-iii.645775/

    https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/barry-hearn-doesnt-think-fury-wilder-iii-will-come-off.650803/

The money wasn't going to be there before Covid. With Covid, no chance. And we are finally starting to get open acknowledgement, as Wilder's camp is asking for next year knowing full well that is a deal breaker.

Now, I know some of you are hoping that this means Joshua, or maybe the winner of Whyte-Povetkin, but the thing is, the money won't be there for those either because of Covid. Fury wants to fight, but is sounds to me like the are talking tune-up...talking about how he needs to fight this year for his mental health.

I am thinking someone like Kabayel, and Kabayal specifically because I know he has promotional ties. I am not disrespecting Agit, who had a good win over Chisora and several other decent ones, but his chances of beating Fury are basically slim and none. If not Kabayel, then another marginal guy like him.

Going to start a poll: please vote for who you think Fury WILL fight next, not who you WANT.

    Thanks.

I see your point about the money not being there because of the virus., but dont you think they could sell enough pay per views to make up for the live gate loss? I mean almost everyone would buy a Joshua Fury fight... im not interested in the wilder fury pointless rubber match

No way to make up a live gate. Trust me, it will be a tune-up defense this year unless the WBC orders him to fight Whyte or Povetkin.

If Fury has capacity within the contract to pass on Wilder ... Wilder's grasp on a belt is gone. I don't think Wilder want to give that up and have to work his way back in contention.

Best case scenario for me is a negotiated scenario whereby Fury fights Joshua for all 4 belts in Macau by the end of the year.

Winner drops the WBC and IBF (and even WBO), Fury/Joshua 2 can be for one belt only. Wilder v Whyte/Pov for WBC, Pulev v who-ever for IBF, Usyk or whoever v whoever for WBO.

Well Uncle Al has already started moving to make sure one of his fighters will be guaranteed a shot at a belt by looking to make the Charr Ruiz fight. That means barring an epic catastrophe Ruiz would hold the otherwise meaningless WBA regular title that grants it's owner mandatory status.

If he wanted Wilder to skip the queue to get a shot he would then only need to have him beat Ruiz - if he can.

Fury may be starting to flip out. There are only so many time he can take the bins to the dump each week to maintain sanity and a sense of purpose. Maybe they've already found him bursting through the dump gates in his truck, playing chicken with the bulldozers.

Boxing somebody before the year is finished is better than boxing nobody. I don't think that it will happen, though, and Tyson Fury should just be happy that he managed to get in the amazing win over Deontay Wilder before all of this kicked off.

Actually I agree that most likely we won't see the big fights like Joshua or Whyte happening, so Kabayel is a good option.

Fury - Kabayel would be a good tune up fight, but easy win for Fury.
Fury - Charr would finally show that Charr's title is little worth and should vanish.
Fury - Chisora would sell good in UK if Fury wants to fight there, but I believe Chisora is out for another Whyte fight in future.
Fury - Ortiz could be something.
Fury - Kownacki could be possible actually, but appears to be an easy fight for Fury from what we saw in Kownackis last fight.
Fury - Hunter would be possible too.

Still, Wilder 3 is most likely to happen because Wilder has had all the support from the WBC over the years and I don't see what else would make sense for Wilder than to fight Fury again and try to regain his titles. Whoelse would be willing to fight Wilder for no rewards in terms of belts...

The third fight will certainly happen IMO. The question to my mind is more ‘will they squeeze another one in for Fury’ first as there are noises that he wants a bout this year which might be too soon for Wilder’s side. If that’s the case, then in terms of ‘tick over’ fights Kabayel would be a fine enough choice for me. The fight will be boring as **** though

I think Wilder might be angling for maximum step aside money. If he can swing 10m not to get his ass handed to him and ride off into the sunset saying he only ever lost to the lineal champ who dethroned a legend and unified the division - if he beats Joshua - then he might think that sounds a great deal.

You could be right and that certainly wouldn’t be a bad way to retire in truth, though perhaps a wee bit cowardly.

Well I wouldn't be surprised if his inflated sense of worth is as shattered as Naz's was post MAB mauling and looking at his route to the top it hardly screams bravery.

He might prove me wrong but I've always suspected that he was a coddled flat track bully so skulking off during the pandemic payday in hand wouldn't shock me one iota.

So you've been insisting there is no interest in a Wilder-Fury fight, but you think there's going to be interest in a Fury-Kabayel fight?

    Okay. (LOL)

I honestly think he believes the excuse he gave and the team around him will fan those particular flames, so his ego is probably still in tact. Foolishly, perhaps
