Margarito vs Cintron/Cotto vs Gomez and Pavlik Vs Lockett got lower ratings.

So America is especially ambivalent towards mexicans (Margito, Gomez, Ponce De Leon), Puerto Ricans (Cotto, Cintron, JuanMa), Guys from Cleveland (Pavlik), guys with mullets (Ponce again) and Tomato Cans (Gary Lockett).

In other words, America in general just isn't hot on boxing right now.

It's not that we hate europe we're just annoyed that every time there's a big war you Europeans need us to come over there and save your asses.

riiiighht....because your "2 freinds" make up the whole population of america

thats like when people say "i'm not racist ONE of my freinds is black"

but, anyways....to me, and any hardcore boxing fan race, religion, color, it all means nothing when you step into the boxing ring.....come Hayeday i'm rooting not gonna be rooting for Monte Barett just because he's american i'm gonna be rooting for David Haye....it's about talent, skill, or overall excitement the fact that people dont like the klitchskos has nothing to do with the fact that they're soviets

so what is wrong about it?

everyone take care and have interests in fighters from they own country

and only few top fighters that are ATG

so admiting this fact it only proves that neither of Klitschkos isnt ATG

    thats all

It works both ways, sport in general is a tribal thing, so it makes sense that Americans are going to, in most cases - not all, favour American fighters, there is no need to get pissed off about it, because all nationalities do the same (except those little countries who don't have anyone to represent them) four of my top five favourite fighters are British, so what, doesn't mean I hate Americans or Germans or Mexicans or whoever, just means I support the guys I can identify most with, or whose wins I feel most proud of because they are representing where I'm from etc.

Well, I think the thread starter is true. Coverage on ESPN is basically nil. Nothing, despite a guy making a historic comeback. Great display of boxing from a guy who was off 4 years, and absolutely no coverage. Part of that is that they are not Americans no doubt.

Part of the problem is that nowadays you have to get HBO & Showtime, paid premium channels in order to see. It is not shown on network TV anymore, so now regular people can't see them. That is another issue that unfortunately means boxing doesn't get the coverage it should.

You only came into Europe in WWII AFTER Hitler declared war on you and that was December 1941. The significant contribution to Germanys downfall was the Soviet Union. Read some history books sonny before starting the John Wayne crap, you`re embarrassing yourself.:hi:

Can I just add to that that the British fans on here are every bit as partisan regarding their own fighters?? Not that I'm saying there's anything wrong with that, but it's unfair to label the Americans as insular or xenophobic when most Brits I read on here are the exact same.
