Dawejko can fight. He is skilled and has been boxing a long time. Galento in a sparring video looks like he had never been in the ring. Just shows the difference in boxing talent between the eras. Dawejko is much better than Galento but has never been ranked in this era. Galento in his time was ranked and even got a title fight and floored the champ. Dawejko would be a legend today if he came along in Galento's era.

Yeah all this playing up of Galento in this thread is baffling. In his own era he was considered unskilled, undersized, overweight and somewhat of a sideshow attraction. He got beat-up in sparring by a 40+ year old Jack Dempsey who was his own manager at the time.

Galento would be fighting in BKFC today at most

One thing that we should not forget about Joshua, is that he unified three belts.

He then defended them against all mandatories, lost them collectively, then regained them collectively.

Joshua is a big part of reason that we have an Undisputed Champion today.

He did a lot of the work at the coal face, and that allowed two other men, to close the deal in two moves.

I think that we will miss Joshua when he is gone.

Galento fights like one of those violent special Ed kids who would break loose during lunch time. Oh man, he looks horrible in this clip.

In Two-Ton’s defense, he does look better in his fight against Louis. For whatever it’s worth.

After Ruiz, Joshua was never put in with another puncher again. I think thats significant info regarding Joshua that people tend to leave out.

Having seen Ruiz in person and having seen a picture of my 6'1 1/2 friend standing next to him, I can assure you that Ruiz is a legit 6'2.

Nah, he's 6'2+. He looks different when he's standing up straight and not in a fighting stance.

Ruiz is known to wear thick soled shoes.

You can believe your conspiracy theories, but you don't have a shred of evidence that the athletic commissions are falsifying data and I know the guy is 6'2.

You can believe what you want. But don't try to say there isn't any evidence. Thats a lie. And denying it exists like you just tried to do won't make it go away.

Galento had two skills: He could take enormous amounts of punishment and he could hit like an SOB. That’s enough to give him a punchers’ chance against anyone, but I don’t think it translates to a victory over AJ or Ruiz.
