Yep! the same clueless crowd who think Usyk is the best ever, and think Canelo could beat Dempsey, and who thought Joshua was a top 5 of all time will hail Crawford as better than Ray Robinson and Greb.

I dont think Bud is the GOAT but his accolades will be mighty impressive if he beats Canelo. Like...wowza impressive. He would be above Floyd and Manny all-time for me w a better win over Canelo, a dominant win over his greatest rival (unlike Floyd and Manny who never outclassed their rivals in Manny and JMM). I still have SRR, SRL, and Ali ahead but there would be some tough conversations should Bud beat Canelo without controversy.

And, full disclaimer, I had Madrimov beating (or drawing) vs Bud.

IDK mate. Canelo is far more accomplished and far better than AJ or Fury. It kind of comes down to how Bud wins, if he wins, which I do not think he can. I expect a Canelo stoppage or wide UD a la Jermell.

Bud's power couldnt dissuade Madrimov. He sure as **** aint discouraging Canelo w power lmao

he’s obviously not stopping Canelo. He’s likely not even hurting him. Canelo has an ATG chin at 168. Nobody jumping two weights is making a dent. If Bud wins, it’s on the cards.

Not sure he's above Floyd and manny. Then again undisputed in 3 separate weight classes and moving up 2 divisions at 38 to do it? That's a remarkable achievement

Floyd beating Canelo means that won't happen. It shouldn't anyway.

Then again if Usyk gets to 10-0 at HW they'll probably be calls to rename the sport after him so I don't know. Modernists have lost their darn mind. If evolution is real and 2025 is the latest date whoevers the best in 2025 is the best ever is their argument probably. Unless its Devin Haney because hes boring.

The only way Bud wins is pot shotting his way to a close points win, if he tries to exchange or get physical he will get knocked out. I can see him getting stopped with a body shot like Oscar did vs Hopkins.

Undisputed is no argument for p4p, goat or anything. If canelo wasn't a superstar that gets all the fights he wants, he might still be waiting for his chance to unify like opetaia is and probably will be forever... and then crawford would not be undisputed when beating canelo. Would that make any difference for the value of that achievement? All of this 2 weight-class-jump-ubdisputed thing hinges on how good canelo actually still is.

People want to take shortcuts in valuing fighters and reach for their statistics and data. I love working with data but all of those can only be hints. These achievements like 'undisputed' '0 losses' '100 wins in a row' '100% ko ratio' '10 years champion' can not be used to decide who is the greatest.

It matters WHO they fought and WHEN and HOW the fights went. The rest is trading-card-game-mentality...

Usyk is probably going to be stripped of a title soon. How would that impact his value? If Opetaia gets to fight for undisputed and inevitably wins since he is way above everyone else in cruiser - EVERYTHING that tells me about his value as a fighter is in the fight itself. Doesn't matter if it's for undisputed or not. And on top of that there actually are 1000 belts. People decide that four of them matter enough to care about those, but well... Look at what questionable decisions most of all the wba and wbc issue time and time again...

We're talking about the absolute best boxers in a historic context here and I refuse to let any argument as to the goat-worthiness of a fighter be decided by 'undisputed' (granted by matchmaking, belt-politics and protection of cash-cows with e-mail belts)!

He will never surpass the mighty Usyk who has already sewn up the greatest of this era.
