Calzaghe cannot get credit for anything he does at this point.

Depends on the quality if the win. If its a clear win, be it a 7-5 win or a clear domination, Calzaghe deserves SOME credit for beating an over the hill Hopkins.

But if he pulls off one of these wins where it should have been Hop 7-5 victory.. Well lets just say I won't be surprised in the least.

Do you realize you and your underlings basically gave Hops NO CHANCE from the start? He's old and slow and a # of others would beat him. Only recently have some been giving Hopkins his dues. :patsch

A win is a win . . . and no matter how close it is . . . JC should get full credit for it.

Nobody has ever dominated Bhops up to this point of his career . . . take note of that.

They are underestimating Hopkins, I expect this to be close.

Joe isn't going to have his way with Hopkins he is going to have to make adjustments.

personally i will be very happy if joe pulls of a narrow win on points.

IMO this is a fight that i hope calzaghe gets a win from and moves on because it should be obvious that calzaghe is not going to look good in this fight.

if the ref lets a few things go,which i think he will , this is going to be a spoling/mauling/dirty fight, with both fighters having styles ,cabable of shutting down each other and making a lot of missing the norm.

Even the closest win will move Joe a couple of places higher in most people's list (who knows a bit about boxing). Just a few rank him as high as Rafael does (#2). A close victory could secure that position for the rest. An overwhelming maybe good enough for the #1 (since Floyd is fighting Big Show who's hardly a legitimate WW fighter) but let's not talk about that.

Talk about that no one has ever dominated Hopkins and don't expect Calzaghe to have an easy time. Even when Roy was in his absolute prime and Hopkins was far from it, Roy had to work hard to win a dec. something like 116-112.

Years later, Hopkins resume is better than ever: win over then-p4p11-15 Tarver barely losing a round, win over p4p#3 Winky in a close fight (last one to defeat Winky legitimatly was... um. Vazquez 14 years ago?) is stunning, and even more stunning after Saturday, when Glen whooped future p4p-er Dawson's a** and Tarver gave Woods a boxing lesson...

So... no, a close victory would (should) rocket Joe up very high for those who think Kessler was a bum so was everyone from Lacy to Eubank incl. Mitchell, Reid etc.

This is why Calzaghe fans annoy me. They've spent months completely trashing Hopkins. They've said his comp is **** and that he's overrated. They said his win over Tarver is overrated it doesn't mean much, they totally discredited his win over Winky. They've also said that Hopkins is old and shot and that Calzaghe should completely dominate and stop Hopkins. Despite this, they claim that Calzaghe will unfairly get no credit for the win.

What's even more pathetic is that a week before the fight, they are now trying to pump Hopkins up. All of a sudden, his win over Tarver means something just because Tarver beat up on shitty ass Clinton Woods. Woods has now fought in the U.S twice, and has gotten his ass whooped twice. I got news for these delusional fans, the win over Tarver was a good win before he took on overrated Woods. Hopkins came up 2 divisions, and was a 3-1 underdog in that fight. Everyone said he was going to lose and he totally dominated Tarver.
