nah you've got it wrong. If calzaghe was american... then his promoter wouldn't have matched him up against bums for 10 years. then HBO would demand he fights credible opposition, and not wait 10 years till everyone is finished. the fans would demand that he fought champions throughout his reign instead of fighting his awful WBO mandotaries for 10 years.
Never like Lacy since since Shika fight. Always tought he was overatted. For people to pick Lacy shows how little they tought of Cal. For me it wasn't until the Lacy fight that showed me there was something special with cal. Too bad there was not really much other special boxer around that weight. Lacy was a good start. Kessler help his resume a lot. B hop and Jones was too old. He's one of those, what if? type of fighters.
Calzaghe would have loved to have fought bigger names, but he fought some good fighters early in his career that people forget bout. His talent was awesome, stamina, speed, could adapt easily in the ring, great chin!!!!!!!
I like calazaghe. very underrated, if he was american hed 10 slots higher, but his punching technique is damn awful.
...it would not change a thing. Calzaghe sucked and fought easy opponents primarily. Does not matter what nationality he is. I dont understand all that hype about Calzaghe! His fights are not beautiful to watch and were simply boring.
