Pac and Floyd aren't fighting each other for various reasons...I wonder what Duran would have done? Duran would electrify today's boxing.
yep, there just aren't ANY fighters on the level of Kirkland Laing these days LOL Sober Pavlik would ****ing crush Duran, Hearns style.
How he trained would be important. Everyone lifts weights, some too much (IMO) Since muscle weighs so much, a light routine still brings a guy up a division, some guys today would be 135, but fight at 147-154. Plus factor in weigh-ins almost 48 hours before a fight, allowing boxers to come in up to 12 pounds or more heavier. So if Duran trains like he did when he fought, fights at 135, he is champ same for 140. For 140 he would have to wait till he was 1976 Duran, more filled out. If he trains like guys of today, lifts weights, goes up to 154, 160, who knows? I don't consider his Barkely fight an indication of how he would do at higher weights, Barkley fought bad fight. I'm thinking 1970's to 1980 Duran.
Who gives a **** IF Duran was around. We should honor the fighters for the time they fought in. Other than that, they aren't fighting and that's it. All that is there is for discussion. Go to the classic forum for that ****. It's pointless. You say this, I say that. Duran ain't fighting. FFS
Slow as hell, no defense... He would be nothing special. Like he was in the 80s. Most overrated fighter ever.
he'd be limited to in-house fights within his promotional company if he were around today. We'd be watching Duran vs. Mercito Gesta if he were with Top Rank. Golden Boy would have Duran vs. Robert Guerrero or Keith Thurman. :rofl
He would dominate from 135 to 160. Leaving some disabled along the way. And send others to the morgue.
he'd beat anyone from LW - WW. at LMW Floyd could beat him, but I wouldn't bet on it. at MW Martinez would beat him.
Pac - Duran would be huge and would probably be a trilogy. Duran - Mayweather will never be made because Duran will be a live a dog until he leaves the WW division, and we all know FMJ. :rofl
What are we talking about? Duran in his prime at lightweight or bloated,past-his-best Duran who would still give many MW's a run for their money? Either way,he would dominate 135 and although I've said before Floyd has a style which I think is suited to giving Duran a very tough night, there's no one at 160 or under who I would strongly fancy to beat him. His only problem would be getting protected guys like Canelo to fight him.
