Didn't Mayweather spend most of the Alvarez fight in the pocket and make Alvarez look like a chump?

Mayweather is a defensive fighter, and he is the face of boxing right at the moment, and boxing's biggest cash cow... The forces who stand to make a profit off the biggest cash cow will ensure defensive fighting isn't deemed negative...

...Once Mayweather retires we can go back to real prize fighting when fighters who showed warrior mentallity like Leonard, Duran, Ali, Robinson, De La Hoya, etc...

Remember when Oscar was crucified for doing in the last 3 rounds against Trinidad exactly what some "defensive fighters" do today and get credit and praise for...

Yeah, can't wait for this era to be over...Worst era of boxing for sure.

Offense wins games, defense wins championships.

If everyone used their brains, there would be no packroaches or #48s.

That's not boxing, that's dancing, or a game of tag.

-More average joes would participate in boxing as a workout sort of hobby.

-Less injuries and brain damage from career boxers over the short and long term.

That would be impossible. You can never have all of one style. Fighters will adapt.
