On the other hand Pac did become very well known in America. The springboard for that was stopping American boxing icon ODLH and being a legitimate threat to the games best in Mayweather. GGG on the other hand does not have an American icon to slay with the possible exception of Ward. In the interim putting on devastating performances on HBO will only help his case. I am curious if GGG continues to dominate over the next handful of years, whether our boxing scribes will pull the weak era card against him. That is how it usually works unless a fighter makes his name by beating ranked American fighters, regardless of their availability, they will be saddled with that face saving stigma.
