If Groves wins the WBSS what should he do next?

I think if Smith wins its likely he'll fight Degale, Eubank and other domestic fights but as for Groves he has been there and done it

I know the talk about a rematch with Degale is there but Watching an interview Groves gave to boxing social when talking about Degales situation atm, he did not mention himself as an option I get the impression he doesn't wanna give Degale a big payday.

He could unify but I think Benavidez & Uzcategui are high risk low reward fights, and at this point I think it's pretty obvious Ramirez ain't gonna fight anyone with a pulse.

I would be interested to see him move up to light heavyweight i thought he should have done this after the Badou Jack fight where he looked sluggish. While he has seemed to be making weight a lot better under Mcguigan he didn't look great in weigh in againt Eubank.

I think it would be better physically for him and could be more sharper the main questions would be would his power carry up to the weight and how would he deal with a far greater calibre of opponents at 175.

 

Retire.

 

Think he'll retire, he's made a lot of money in his career and the winners pot in this will top it off.

Don't think the Degale fight is possible now, Degales profile has been destroyed in the last few years which will make it impossible to negotiate. Genuine hatred from each other will not allow a fair split in this fight.
Can anyone see Degales ego taking any less than 50:50? he's delusional. Relaity is this is now easily a 60:40 Groves fight, maybe more.

If he loses... then I think Groves Degale is possible...

 

Hopefully his shoulder holds up but i would seriously consider retiring whatever the outcome

Get Froch back for another fight.

A farewell fight and redemption and a chance for Froch to hammer him 1 last time.

 

The egos with both himself and degale would probably mean this doesn't happen and tbf degale doesn't deserve it and wouod want more than 30percent.would like see him step up to light heavy as not biggest paydays out there at smw not even close to what he will earn for this final .like groves but funny feeling smith stops him late

 

Froch isn't going to risk the nose job.

Groves should try to get the GGG/Canelo winner to move up so that he can fight in front of 90k at wembley again. If not then might as well retire.

edit: or fight degale if he takes sub 30% of the split. degale looks completely shot now so it should be an easy night for groves.

 

Degale summer 2019 or if ggg moves up.

 

He should go up to 175ib and fight for a world title. If Callum Johnson pulls off an upset against Beterbiev, then it could be a big fight for early next year.

He’s got to get past Callum Smith though, whom I rate highly but I’m wondering if there’s a real issue with his (Smith’s) hands in terms of them busting up easily.

Yeah your right, i still think he had the beating of Froch but got pulled into a toe to toe battle i was convinced he would win the rematch but i guess the moment had passed n Froch improved

 

Groves becomes 168 #1, and has probably 2/3 money fights before retiring.

I'd say Degale II, an American fight and a cash out stadium scrap.

 

Degale if as yous say it makes sense money wise. Then beat Jack and retire.

 

I do too. He improved, matured after them fights imo, maybe not as sharp but wiser..I still think he had the beatings of Froch if he had that little more maturity that come later
