Cottos resume at 140 is only comparable to Hattons. No better. They have a common opponent that they both dealt with in similar circumstances. It would have been a good fight, IMHO Cottos one weakness is that he likes to fight at his own pace. It would have been interesting to see if Hatton could have forced a pace Cotto was uncomfortable at.

Well surely if thats the case Hatton could still up the pressure at 147?

I don't think that nessarcerily follows. I reckon Cotto would be the bigger, stronger guy at 147, don't you? Plus I think Cotto is currently at his prime where Hatton is slightly past his, those two things turn an even(ish) fight at 140 a few years ago into a mid-late stoppage for Cotto at 147 today IMHO.

I think at 140, Hatton's resume is superior to that of Cotto. If Miguel could get down, it would be one hell of a fight, as it would be at 147.

I would say Ricky would do the bizzo at 140, taking advantange of Cotto being weight drained, and wouldn't let him off the hook as Torres did, whilst at 147 Cotto is just too big and would win via late stoppage in an entertaining encounter.

The best chance of a Hatton win would be to raise the pace as much as possible to take him out of his comfort zone, something which inferior fighters to Hatton have been able to do for a couple of rounds.

There is an awful lot of Cotto hugging going on at present, and whilst he is undoubtedly world class, beating some reality TV chump is not enough for me. He may as well have fought Kevin McIntyre or Jamie Moore - at least they wouldn't be decked by some nothing jab!

I don't blame you mate. This whole subject is boring now anyway, I think we need to discuss other important matters such as Calzaghe's next fight, the outcome of Margo/Cotto, why Floyd is apparently taking a two year lay off & who Haye's next opponent will be. I also want to know whether people think Hopkins will fight again.

As for Hatton my stance will be this. Try & ignore the hysteria & just watch his fights & enjoy them for what they are.:good

Cotto is one of, if not my fave fighter.... He's too good for Hatton and always has been IMO.... No disgrace Cotto is on his way to greatness. Mayweathewr would beat Cotto though quite handily.

Thats fair enough mate. He'll never be a real force at 147 or an ATG but if he beats Paulie, Torres and Pac at 140 while hoping for a Mayweather rematch then thats a great way for a 29 year old pressure fighter to close his resume and retire aged 31 IMHO.

Although I think even if Hatton beats Maywether in a rematch Kurt would then say he was ducking Pavlik..;)

I happen to think the Hatton/Paulie fight will be better than a lot of people are anticipating. Hatton will win though.

So whats the Jada Fire collection like then?
