There would be little point in Wlad continuing if he lost, apart from financial reasons. He will always be seen as a weak champion who dominated an even weaker era, so there's no way he'd ever be able to forge a respectable legacy. If he came back and dominated again, that would only confirm thoughts that this is a very weak era. It would be devastating for his legacy. He wouldn't be ranked in the top 30 all-time if that happened.
Haye is really being underrated here - if Haye wins all the credit goes to Haye because Wlad is a great fighter. If Haye then went on to beat Vitali I would love to see the general opinions on this forum of Haye.
You cant give the Klits any credit can you? :-(.. Anyone who can win 2 world championship belts and defend 9 times, and pretty much win every round in these defenses against the best the division has to offer.. Is NOT a weak champion, you can say whatever you want, no matter how weak you may find his comp.. If Wlad is a weak champion, then what is: Floyd patterson Ingemark Johansson Jack Dempsey James Smith John Tate John Ruiz etc?????
Even if Wlad wins their isn't much point in him stopping around unless Adamek beats Vitali. Because thats the division cleared out Who is their after that? Maybe Robert Helinius and Alexander Povetin, but its not very interesting. The only meaningful fight would be the brothers against each other and that's not going to happen.
You also forgot that he is off balance, has never beat a top fighter even at cruiserweight, was part of many "Fixed" fights, lost to Valuev, ducked Adamek at cruiser and heavy and his record is completely without any top names at cruiser and heavyweight, he is a bum and a fraud....:good
They were all weak champions with the exception of Dempsey and Patterson. Wlad would be ranked alongside the others though, such as Ingo and Tate, and possibly behind the likes of Ruiz. I'm puzzled as to why you mentioned Dempsey though. Me saying Wlad is a weak champion is based on the proviso that he loses to Haye. If he does, then he'll have lost in his prime to a fighter he should beat and that will kill his achievements. Dempsey didn't lose in his prime.
