The mistake is to believe that Hops is essentially a rough house spoiler ( in the sense that some wrongly see Ricky Hatton) - he is not, not even after shutting down Winky's offense with intelligence, and Cal has met pure brawlers compared to whom Bernard should not be considered one - Reid, Starie, Thornberry, Sheika, Salem just to mention some... I believe Cal is better physically but technically they are levelled - Cal's repertoire is great but he has to lead in with double jabs and pity-pat punches, he can't possibly open up on Bernard with lefts over the top, overhand rights and hooked arms' wild punches...

And what is that, to be hit 500 times in the face? Hopkins is an old man who throws few punches. Countering a speedy boxer is not easy.

I think Hopkins might foul out of this match.

People talk about Hopkins roughhouse tactics, but if Joe needs to go into the trenches he will, and he'll beat him there too

It's like Mayweather - Hatton. There was a feeling that if Hatton could get in close he might be effective. He wasn't, Mayweather beat his ass inside and out. It's going to be the same here, a better fighter is a better fighter

You mean when they realize that Bernard is actually a lot worse than they'd thought?

    I agree.

You're welcome FRKO. Believe it or not, I love Calzaghe - the guy is just a beautiful fighter and yes, I will state he is a super-natural. 3 times ABA champion, a gutsy kid and a true knockout artist when his first fights were telecasted on Eurosport - tremendous knockout of Mark Delaney when he was 16-0, 15 KOs, - 22-0, 21 KOs going into the Eubank's fight and absolutely beats the **** out of guys like Sheika, Mitchell, Veit, Brewer, toys with Lacy, fights hard, cut and through punches against a dirty low-life in Salem and outclasses Kessler... He is true world class... Now and since you talk the truth - let's speak like Max does - what is the inconvenient truth about this?... Cal may be the truth but Bernard is a truth detector and you will be able to tell what is who once the first punches start landing - one should always look at what's first ( not at 1000 punches mark) and if Hops ( or Cal) throw his opponent off the rythm with well placed-shots, how can they reach their statistical goal? Each subsequent step has to stand on each of the steps taken, each at a time... And man, Hopkins is a scary motherfukker - his face looks like a skull with those narrow eyes, he is physically superb even at this age and he's no 5'9'' tall Lacy, he's taller than Calzaghe, they're going to fight in Vegas... I really feel that Cal is gonna win cause he will fight his heart out and put 3 punches when Hops puts only one, but it's gonna be a very tough fight.

I waited 24 rounds for him to use it on Jermaine Taylor.

It's not quite as easy as saying it though, is it? And even more difficult if it is Joe Calzaghe you are trying to hit.

Calzaghe can't really trust too much on ducking, turning and sliding shots at punch range. He has good footwork and excellent co-ordination but nothing like he's elusive to play around with Hops like he used to against guys like Gimenez and Mkrtchian once, showboating, doing shuffles, breakdancing ( early fights), letting those arms down and countering with pity-pat punches... Erase that from your mind, please - Hops has perfect control of distance and timing and his punch is underrated. Working full time with short punches is not a good idea too. He should fight behind a double, triple jab and fast flurries and get off on very light feet, never sit down on punches unless Hops is about to go.

Hopkins hasn't got the stamina to throw 1000 counters.

    His comments are untrue.
