Why pascal isnt as good as none of the guys Nard beat?

is it because of his age and pascal has just beat the undefeated light weight champ? i could understand that

    mixture of the two really.

pascal individually aint as good as tito, wright, tarver, odlh, pavlik(the version that hopkins fought). but contextually, considering pascal is currently the ruler of his division, and nard is seen by some(including me) as an has been, this fight catapults to the top of the lhw division, but straight up the p4p rankings also. so taking everything into account, includint the victory over dawson, a victory for b-hop in this fight would mean more than any of his others bar tito. IMHO.

yes i mean contextually all wins have good and bad points. but a win over pascal has no negatives other than, froch beat him at 168.

pascal is coming off a career best victory, and is now the #1 man at lhw. hopkins is another year older and has not beaten a top 10 lhw in about 6 years, this victory would be nothing short of amazing.

So far, although Pascal is at #1, he really hasn't proven anything other then beating B level fighters and Dawson.
I would rate BHOP's win as somewhere near his win against Joppy.

Tarver -- BHop came off back to back losses, moved up two divisions, and beat the man at 175.

Pavlik -- I do not necessarily think Pavlik was a better fighter than Tito p4p, but I do think Kelly was a better middleweight than Tito. At the time KP looked like an unstoppable beast, and Bernard took him to school.

Trinidad -- Tito was the heavy favorite and Hops beat the brakes off him.

Pascal -- Pascal at 175 would be a much better win than Wright or Delahoya at catch weights.

Id have it above the Pavlik win myself.... probably behind tito and tarver.

    - Hopkins is older then when he fought Pavlik, making it that much more impressive
    - Hes fighting the person at his weight, instead of making the person move up
    - Pascal is a bigger fighter then Pavlik.

not quite sure how this wouldnt be much above the pavlik victory.... at least IMO.

    1 - Tito
    2 - Tarver
    3 - Pascal
    4 - Pavlik
    5 - Wink
    6 - Oscar

    top 2..

i look at it this way, which of the fighters, that hopkins has a win over, could beat pascal..?

the only one with a chance, would be tarver.

    all valid points :good

it is close, i remember expecting pavlik to kayo him. plus the tarver fight was ridiculously one sided.

the reason i would put pascal above those is because you can nitpick about them, tarver had 2 close fights with johnson, already had a few losses and was losing a lot of weight after rocky.

pavlik, as much as a favourite he was, there can be a case made that he didnt belong at 170, plus when you look at his resume it is on par with pascals now, i.e. beat 1 p4p rated guy, the only difference really being the weight.

pascal is in his prime, in his division, is the #1 in his division and will be a betting favourite against nard. nard is now 43/44 i lose track. i just dont see him pulling another one out of the bag.

You could spin this in a way that would make Pascal the best win. Old Man River will be 45 freaking years old if they fight, and has not been in the ring with a live opponent since Pavlik.

true. i just think adding together all the intangibles, and win over pascal beats the wins over tarver and pavlik
