You can do it, but you don't make Floyd the hero. You make it about his fall from grace, a descent into materialism. You show him compromising himself, becoming less and less, turning away anyone who really cares about him and surrounding himself with hooligan yes men and people who just want to use him. So he traps himself in wealth and stardom but he's alienated from all his real friends and feels hollow. He's consumed with jealousy of Manny Pacquiao a guy who's his polar opposite, who has the respect of people that Floyd wants to have but pretends doesn't matter to him.

You have to start Floyd up high as this young idealistic boxer who wants to be the best and be loved by the fans. Then he compromises and every time he compromises he loses a friend but gains more money. It's about the transformation from Pretty Boy into Money. The end is kind of like Citizen Kane where he dies alone in this big empty house remembering his childhood sled "Rosebud."

That's quite an impressive pitch. Your depiction of the closing nearly brought a tear to my eye. I can see it.

Bobby Chacon. The ups, the downs, the wife's suicide due to him not quitting boxing and fighting 2 days later, the all action affairs and trilogy vs guys like Limon, the son killed in a gan slaying, getting into trouble beating later wives, his death etc etc.

Billy Miske could be a good one, or Sam Langford.

Obvious choice, but I think I'm the first one to say Sonny Liston.

Charley Burley's story deserves to be told on screen it could include the Murderers Row.

yeh nice one! or I'm thinking a Roller Ball (original movie) parallel, where he rises to the top only to discover the sham of it.

though since they know its a cash cow, it will probably turn out to be a tv movie level job with money played by cuba gooding jnr.
