How would he have faired against the other fighters in 1997.

Some say he would have risen to the top but i can't see how he would of got past these 3 fighters.

 

I gotta agree with you.

Perhaps, just perhaps, he would have managed to defeat a Tyson in "decline".

But I don't see how Ibeabuchi could have defeated Lewis or Holy.

 

I suspect that he was always going to come unravelled and get knocked out of the fight game one way or another.

If it had not been jail on that ocasion then he would probably have been jailed or sectioned eventualy.

 

Chances are he would have never fought any of those guys until 2000. Remember he beat Chris Byrd in 1999. After that he would have probably fought a Michael Grant or Vitaly Klitschko before being propelled into a big money fight with Lewis, Tyson or Holyfield.

In 2000 he probably would have the edge on Tyson and Holyfield but I fancy Lewis in their showdown.

 

I think the versions of Lewis and Holyfield in 2000 would be too much for Ibeabuchi.

He would have beaten the version of Tyson that went on a joke tour fighting clowns like Julius Francis, however.

Holyfield would probably brawl to a close-ish points win, around 116-112, but Lewis would do a 'Tua' on him, perhaps stopping him late.

 

Lewis would have defeated him, I'm not sure of the exact result, but Lewis would have defeated him.

 

Very hard to say how he would have done as we really can only speculate how good he really was. He won a close fight against a peak Tua before he started gaining weight and destroyed Byrd which suggests he would have been competitive with anyone. But nobody realy knows he may have been outclasses by Tyson, Holyfild and Lennox but then again he may have beaten them for all we know. But based on what little we saw I think he would have beaten Holyfield and Tyson but lost to Lewis.

 

If Mr President had not gone to jail, he would of been sane and thus unable to produce them moments of genius/madness that made him in the ring. And would of been schooled by any top 50 Heavyweight of his era.

 

In the 00s he would beat Holyfield and Tyson, Lennox beats him though. He'd also beat Vitali and Wlad for my money, especially Wlad but I think he backs Vitali up and works him over too. Ike was a loss to boxing but he was a headcase

 

He wouldn't have been first tier. He didn't box well enough. He'd probably end up with a career sort of like Mercer's.

 

Lewis would have beaten him in a very competetive fight .. i did see him becoming a beltholder at some point though... He was too tenacious not to have...

 

We can't say for certain how he would have fared against Lewis. But, I think he had the right tools to beat him. He could take a great punch, and he used his jab. I see him proceeding in this fight like Ray Mercer did against Lewis. Except Ike was superior to Mercer in all categories except chin.

I see him being very hard for Lewis to beat.

 

Was Ike really that superior to Mercer?

His wins over Tua and Byrd are pretty much all he has - Tua in turn was shutout by Lewis and beaten fairly easily by Byrd.

 

Yes he was far better than Mercer imo much stronger, much better stamina, better bigger puncher and cast iron jaw. Ibeabuchi is more of a big version of Holyfield than another Mercer.

Ibeaubuchi also beat the best version of Tua we have seen not by boxing and moving but by going toe to toe with him. No one has dared do that before or since

 

I think matching him up against the Klitschkos would be more appropriate, rather than Lewis, Tyson and Holyfield.

Obviously Mercer gave Lewis fits, making him fight his fight etc etc, then Lewis gave Holyfield a lesson in the first fight.

Any news on his parole?
