They contradicted each other and none of them quoted Douglas!

I'm sure if he was asked on the matter he'd say so. He has no need to bring it up, why would he when he battered Tyson silly? We both no it's near enough a certainty that he was suffering from an illness if 3 separate sources mentioned such. Of course you can play silly beggars and bury your head in the sand and say it's baloney.

Can we just have a forum vote on this to see whose version sounds more credible and put a end to this?

Yeah, Hagler should be ranked just a little lower than Duran on my list.
Not sure what the conventional view would be but I think they are close.
Duran had more accomplishments because he went up in weight for a couple of great or near great wins but quitting disgracefully against Leonard, being trounced by Benitez and outboxed by Kirkland Laing take some of the shine off, in my opinion.

There have been dozens of ATG middleweights and lightweights though, so in that regard maybe both are overrated in that it's often seen as sacrilege to put either of them outside the top 3 or 4 in their best respective weight classes.

I think you have Hagler a bit closer to Duran than the norm but at least you have him in front.

To be honest i think it's absolute sacrilege not to have Duran in the top 3 or 4 in his division. I think it's a no brainer. He makes the vast majority of top 10's p4p and is often around 5 or so. Benny Leonard gets underdone tho. Hagler a bit less so (automatic top 3-4) but he's obviously still very high. I admire the length of time Hagler spent at the top and he took on all comers. Duran spent a long time at the top too with just the loss to Esteban which was brilliantly avenged x 2.

Incredible era with those two and soooo many others. How lucky were we!

If it was common knowledge as you imply ,don't you think Douglas would have been asked to confirm it at some point? I've read several interviews with him about the fight over the last few days and none allude to it! You produce one with him saying yes I was sick,I had swollen tonsils, influenza and bronchitis and I 'll concede the point!
Actually I cant see him or any other fighter stepping into the ring under those circumstances.

Why the hell would 3 different sources make it up? Like I said before, he kicked Tyson's was so the illness is not relevant at all. Just like fcuking a Lady Boy and staying up till midnight is not.

If f*cking a lady boy isn't relevant ,[and it isn't, though it is documented Tyson had sex the night before ,what sex his partner was hasn't been determined but it illustrates his lack of preparation for the fight].Why have you mentioned it twice? You've really got the hate for him haven't you.
Simple answer you produce a quote from Douglas confirming your statements .If no quote ,=no proof.End Of!

Have you got a statement from the Lady Boy confirming this? If not it's a load of tripe!

It's hard for you to accept that Tyson got his ass kicked by an ill journeyman, it seems unbleievable I know but you'll accept it eventually.

Nope, but I read an interview yesterday in which Tyson said he had sex the night before the fight. He never at any time mentioned Lady Boys ,so I assume that is just a private fantasy of yours about him? Douglas was not ill neither was he a journeyman, and you Sir, are just a Tyson hater who would accept any derogatory sh*t about him to feed that hate. No quote. No proof. No credibility!

Oh dear, you hang onto the words of Mike Tyson who will find and use every excuse possible hahahahaha, more fool you.......

Tyson was not in bad shape nor was he past his prime, he got beat by the better fighter on the night. But, but, but........ no buts!

Don't talk to me about quotes, you're the same poster that point blank refuses to accept JJW's QUOTES that state Marciano hit harder than Louis, your double standards are hilarious I'll give you that one.......
