Right now -- yes. Bute is to fast, to strong, and hits like a freaking truck. KP would have to take his time about moving up. He's fought at, near, or above SMW 14 times, but he has always been a middleweight. If he moved up the right way, fought at least one good tune-up, and tightened up his defense a bit, then we got a fight.

He wanted the title shot so he took this fight. These guys live for 'their shot'.

Bika, who has been a lot inactive, maybe, but he was already beaten by Bute.
Gutknecht has just won a SD against Balzay, Brinkley has done more than that.
Miranda has done nothing in his last fights to deserve a title shot.
Balzay was stopped by Stieglitz and lost his last fight. He is 0-2, so he doesn't deserve it.
I know Brinkley is a huge underdog, but he has earned his chance.
Give the man his opportunity !

Not Brinkley's fault that most of the best guys are in the Super Six. Stevens was probably one of the best out there avaliable and not the only Brinkley has beaten in the last few years.

I don't know BOO bute is a very special fighter but i think this is where Style PLays its part. Bute is very effective against rugged pressure fighters and fighters who depend soley on one punch je can box like heel but i think the type of pressure KP puts on him will be different . it's intelligent pressure behind the Jab. almost like the old foward marching British army that brutalized most of the known wordl in the 17th century. B-hop understood this which is why he applied an almost Indian hit an Run type of game plan for KP by keeping him turing and catching him on his weak point which is angles. Bute is a totally different type of fighter yes he has good foot movement , stamina, Power and Hand speed. but he does not move Latterally or side to side , he back circles whic is effective but not against KP. yes bute Can Crack but so could miranda. Look at that fight(not comparing so hold on) Miranda landed flush more then a few times but Kp was able to take it he would see those str8 punches coming . if you look at what taylor fight the knock down did come from several punches but they weren't Str8 punches more loopin that came from and angle He didn't expect. pute throws str8 punches and also short impactfull shots. thing is Kp likes to keep his range. and then we have the the Str8 right hand a nemesiss of the Southpaw. the X-factor will be Kp intellegent pressure. i used to think this figh was 50/50 or 60-40 in favor of bute but after looking over every think i would have to go with KP and favour him 70-30 and by KO in 11

My thinking on the subject is simply this: There is no hurry to make this fight. The tournament won't end until mid 2011, and the whole idea behind a Pavlik/Bute fight is for the winner to square off with the tourney winner. Pavlik needs to fight a better southpaw than a fading McKart. He needs a commitment to move to 168 permanently, and he needs a solid tune-up at the weight. If he does all that, then hell ya, bring it on!

i Don't think Hbo is going to Wait that long i say it'll be Martinez first the Stieglitz in july if he stil has his belt then a show down in OCt against Bute for a unification.then again they could all but Bypass that idea and go str8 for Stieglitz but i have a feeling that will only hapen if PW scoops up Martinez .

If Jesse gets the chance to take the money.
Why not. He will get KO'd with body punches. Biggest pay day of his life.
**** for the millions the HWs make I would fight a PRIME Tyson or Kiltichko or anyone else.
Not like I haven't ever been hit with a bat.
