If i'm correct, Jones and Calzaghe were due to fight several years ago, but the fight never materialised. Back then, I'd say Jones hands down. Now, I'm not so sure. Calzaghe throws punches all night long, Roy doesn't anymore, due to his age. Howeever, i think he'd put up more than a challenge than B-Hop would. If he beats Hopkins (and he should) then the Taylor-Pavlik winner (and he should) he'll be the greatest super middleweight and one of the greatest boxers in history.
When people say that Jones was supposed to fight JC years ago and did not, it sounds like Jones (and other American fighters) were avoiding "great" joe. "Dollars make sense" has been true with respect especially to non-American fighters. Even though Joe was winning all those years, it did not get American exposure to even have Joe set up as a tune up opponent with a good record. Joe C is a very good figher. However, it will be interesting to see if either Bernard or Jones cuts him. Bangs him up way more than any of the fights we have seen. Styles make fights and Joe's style may be ripe for order for either Jones or Hopkins. I look for Jones/Hopkins II to be the ultimate fight of both their careers.
Yeah sure atsch Keep taking those drugs. So let me get this straight. Don't get me wrong, I think he is a great fighter and having an undefeated career is amazing. But last year he still fought Peter Manfredo. Manfredo just fought Lacy in a fight that clearly showed the REAL level these two are on.....and its not very high, definitely not elite. I don't care how much Lacy was hyped leading up to the fight.....in hindsight, it wasn't that impressive for Calzaghe to beat such a limited fighter. Kessler? Good win against another undefeated titlist. Kessler, however doesn't have a HOF resume and hadn't fought against elite competition. Now he beats a 43yr old Hopkins and then the winner of Pavlik/Taylor.....all 3 of which were fought most of their careers in a weight class south of his and he is one of the G.O.A.T.????? atsch You Calzaghe fans are out of ****ing control :deal
Calzaghe's getting into HOF, Calzaghe will do so undefeated and people like you will always hate him; most likely because he's not american.
