Why not? If Sergio can't contend with full fledged middles, he should move down. Serg had a single top 10 p4p win, a smaller guy as well (hence the catchweight). Half the top 10 have 0-1 p4p wins.

How about Wach, where is he p4p if he upsets Wlad?

if he beat Sergio and beat the winner of Dawson/ward he would be number 2 in my list. IMO

How many of the top tenners have more than 1 top 10 (even 20) win? Not Sergio, Ward, Wlad. There's a few with 0. Unless you mean top divisional comp?

No, it doesn't work that way. Like golf and tennis and any other sports, you have to keep winning to get more points to be counted then you will be ranked higher and higher until you reach to the top. Winning only one big tournament and then gone can't help you to become #1

    Is my explaination clear?

Fair enough. IMO resume wise he's already top 3 at his weight, not sure about h2h. Sergio didn't have much depth either when he got rated top 5. But agree, he'd need one more good win for contention. Win or lose vs Sergio, I can see a vacant belt fight for Chavez vs Pavlik at 168, not sure that would do it.

It's just that in p4p talk, a single "elite" win is usually worth many solid defenses, which are usually classified as "bums" in the big picture. For example Clottey, Macklin, Abraham, any recent Donaire opponent, all of Wlad's opponents...

He would crack the top ten. I have martinez number 3. That would be a bigger win than Manny has had in years, bigger win than Nonito has ever had. **** that i'll fit him in my top 10 somewhere

Junior gets no love because hes junior. I can see why people would hate on him 5 years ago, but hes grown out of that son of the ledgend role and into a legit threat. Hes his own man now. Give him his due if he beats Sergio

Tend to agree. Followed closely by GGG if he gets past Proska

So if Wlad beats Mayweather, he's the best P4P?

Chavez isn't a full fledged middleweight.

im a die hard Chavez fan, but this win alone cannot put him at #3 instantly. little homie gotta pay his dues like the rest of the top 5 fighters. and one win over this overrated Sergio Puta isnt going to cut it. he's young and got his whole career ahead of him afterall.
