If Kell Brook can't make 147lbs a fight with Cotto looms at 154lbs. Who wins ?

Really just wish Cotto would retire or at least fight someone capable of retiring him. No interest in the diva anymore. I thank him for some great fights in the past but the less catchweight fighters the better.

Cotton isn't going anywhere near Brook.

Brook is too big for Cotto. I pick Brook to win a 12 round UD

I'm not a fan of saying this boxer is ducking this guy because no one really knows what's going on behind the scenes with negotiations in fights.

I will say though it's a bit odd that Brook had no problem taking on his other mandatories (Jo Jo Dan, Bizier, etc.,) claiming how important his title is to him and than when Spence is his mandatory, he's talking about every other option under the sun.

I'd have no issues with him relinquishing his title if he decides to move up to 154 lbs, but him making mention of fighting Khan at 147 lbs gives you an idea on how he's assessing the risk-reward aspect. I get it,Errol is a real threat and can probably clean the entire division. But if a champion truly dares to be great, he should defend his title against all comers, not just low ranking mandatory guys that obviously wouldn't have a shot at beating him.

Anyway we should all know in a couple weeks what Brook's motives are.

I can't see Cotto going to England and putting himself at the mercy of the U.K. Judges. And Brook is not big enough to make a big fight in the US. So I can't see this happening.

Cotto is a hall of fame boxer, but I think he would have trouble with Brook's size and speed. I think he stays away from this one.

This. Brook hasn't improved since his fight against Porter. Cotto has solid power and a great left hook. I think Cotto knocks him out at 154.

Cotto is still good enough to compete with the best, and I think he could give Brook a good run for his money, but I'd favor Brook based on his size and freshness.

Cotto will fight Brook on the undercard of GGG/BJS on the Moon with Martian judges and a Venetian ref. In other words neither of these is EVER happening.

Yes You have the right to call it a duck, thats pretty much what were all looking right now.

    A potential duck.

Brook believes in his skills but he's aware Spence has a great chance of beating him.

I pick Spence to batter Special K.

    All Day.

I think I'm with this. Besides that, though Cotto is getting old, he looked pretty damn good against Canelo. If Cotto can return to that level he could win.

    War Cotto! :starwars-smiley:
