Depends on how shot/faded Barerra looks, and how convincing the win is.

If Barerra looks shot to pieces, and Amir gets a SD, then no.

This is Khan's biggest fight to date , Deane Khan's co trainer said Khan is very up for this fight he cant stop taking lol. If Khan wins it will only improve him as a fighter and give him confidence. Roach knows how to beat MAB, Pacman has beaten him 2 times.

Here are the likely scenarios I envisage:

A - Khan blows Barrera out early, with his handspeed, freshness, and relative lightweight power. Barrera can't do anything at this stage, and is caught cold.

B - Barrera looks a bit sluggish for a while, and then proceeds to knock Khan out.

I don't think the first of these would answer any questions, as he would not take a serious shot, nor would it be competitive. B...well, that speaks for itself.

The only way this could happen is if the fight was somewhat competitive, and Barrera has his moments. That is the only way I can see Khan earning credit. But ultimately, there would be the underlying feeling that Barrera might not have the timing, and he's in reality a smaller man that was never reknowned for huge power anyway. I think whatever the outcome, Khan would need to fight a top class lightweight and win to earn himself the backing of believers.

I already am a believer in Khan and i think he deserves huge respect for having the bollox to take this fight.

Khan must know his chin is **** yet he's willing to get in the ring with one of the greatest Mexican warriors we have ever seen who i don't believe is shot yet.

I'm too stunned that this fight has been made to even contemplate an outcome

It's a big payday for Barrera, no way he'd take it otherwise, so you'd have to question his desire at this stage

It depends how Barrera looks on the night. He looks old and slow then it's nothing more than a name on Khan's resume really.

I hope a decent version of Barrera shows up. He's one of my fav fighters and I'd hate to see him lose to Khan really.

    Agreed.

Although Barrera's last stoppage of note was 2004 so he may not have that in him any more. I'm more expecting to see Barrera try to stay out of range and box Khan.

Hold on a second here, how is Barrera so faded???

Yes he isnt the man he was in 2000 but hes only 34 and he is the last man to give the P4P no1 a decent fight.

Bar Jones he has never lost to anyone but all time great fighters....

He is way to good for Khan and this will be a very very one sided fight.

Look at the opponents though of MAB recently though.

    Pac and JMM.....p4p 1 + 2/3

Rocky Juarez x 2....JMM couldn't knock him out after MAB
