The truth is if Khan wins he won't be elevated to the top of the division or anywhere near it. A Khan win will be viewed with fair trepidation. Most will feel its more a case of Barrera been over the hill. I don't think Khan will ever be a legit world champion at lightweight. He may become a belt holder and tbh I think he was very close to having the Barrera fight sanctioned for the vacant WBO title. Either way he's a million years from a legitimate title challenge to Marquez.... it just won't happen.

Should Khan beat Barrera then he should stay the hell away fro Marquez. Khan is still a work in progress and needs several more fights to develop himself before going near anyone of the calibre of JMM. Win or lose next week and it's not as if he'll be short of opponents to face. He's still young and a defeat to Barrera would not hurt him as much as the Presscott disaster as he's losing to a legend.
