then why was Cotto upset about the weight? why is he claiming he doesnt want to SACRAFICE his body anymore? the weight obviously affects him.

Should have happened years ago when the WW division was on fire, Williams, Margarito and Clottey too. Such a shame they never happened.

Thank you! I can't believe the number of threads today discussing Cotto in high profile fights. Again, Cotto should be fighting Canelo, Chavez Jr, or Martinez and I see all of these beating Cotto, especially Martinez.

I believe Cotto's a better fighter now, technically, than he was in '09. And 154 is a more natural weight for him. If Mayweather is victorious against him in May, it's a better win than Pacquiao's.

It would be a solid win but nothing more. Cotto was never in Mayweather's leauge. his would be a compermise fight in the likely event Pacquiao stil won't fight Mayweather.

How about because he doesn't want it dictated to him again maybe?
There can be a number of reasons.

And no, it's NOT obvious, because he didn't perform like some weight drained fighter when they fought.

 Pacquiao's fighting damaged goods Cotto after the Margarito fight but Cotto will this time be better after another savage beat-down because he's fighting above his best weight class. :blood

It would be a good win, though. Underneath the ODLH win.

nothing more than a "good" win Cotto took some savage beatings in the last few years.Pac ****ed him up I dont think even if they fought at 147/150 cotto could have won that fight.

Id expect floyd to UD him all day aslong as he puts in a masterclass it will go down well with me anything else would have the same effect on floyd that JMM 3 had on Pac I hope they both win easily so their super fight doesnt lose more interest than it already has

Cotto is coming off of 3 wins via tko and will be fighting at his now comfortable weight and has a real trainer in his corner. This is a better version of Cotto no matter what you say. He was coming off a tko to cheato and a near loss vs Clottey, had no trainer and there was a catchweight. Even though i thought that version of Cotto had a good chance, its still a weaker version than todays Cotto. Id say Pacquiao would be in some trouble if he fought Cotto at 150. Cotto is my dude but slim chance he can beat Floyd.

Its a warchest win sure, but I personally would consider it less than the Zab Judah win.

I think he takes Cotto to school and it ends up being like the first 3 rounds of Ortiz, where he lands his straight right all night- and pretty much takes the air out of the fight, limiting Cottos output. Cotts a great fighter- does everything well, but at this point- hasnt got enough left to beat Floyd. Pre Margarito this would have been a great great fight- and I think Mayweather would have still won- but it would have been an interestig fight , with cottos body work and pressure making Floyd work for it. Might have been like another Castillo Mayweather perhaps.
